I am pretty sure that Microsoft is going to leave those of us in the dust who opened their Zunes, even though many people opened theirs BEFORE any representative or moderator said not to. They could probably care less about the small amount of people who still can't get their Zune to work... and when I say that I mean that they will probably not go out of their way to keep us as customers. Microsoft has many other forms of income, not just their mp3 players, that they can rely on. Plus, they know that most people won't want to switch brands because of personal preference. AND, they'll most likely go out and buy a newer model Zune ANYWAY if they end up being S.O.L. from opening their Zune, despite Microsoft's history of hardware/software failure.
So, keep getting angry at customer support. Keep trying to find other ways to fix your Zune. It won't really matter in the end because msot of us have already voided our warranty and Microsoft does not have to account for those people. If you opened your Zune and try to make the argument that they didn't say not to open your Zune until WAYYY after the fact, they will just tell you that you should have read the Terms of Use before opening.
In the meantime, while I'm waiting for the inevitable "Sorry, there's nothing we can do for those of you who have opened your Zune." I'll be shopping around for something else just in case.
