re: WANTED: Zunepad Feedback <stickied>
Recently, mines has been mixing up press and hold with each other when I press or hold the left side of the zune pad; even if I hold it down, sometimes it will act only like I pressed it quickly. It was fine before the 3.1 update though >>

I think its great, but sadly I think mine is starting to fail. It seems brittle and with light touches on either of the 4 main directions they pad would go down with a clicking sound but not far down enough to actually press/do anything. I think I'm looking at a new zune this holiday.

re: WANTED: Zunepad Feedback <stickied>
I own the 8G Zune, and I have to admit, one of the first things I did was turn the Zunepad off. I believe it's a great feature, and if I was in a different scenario, I might leave it on. I put my Zune in my pocket all day at work, and have to reach in every 10 minutes or so to pause music, because I get asked a question or something similar. If I was to reach into my pocket and accidentally hit the pad, it would pause, back up, or worse, skip tracks. That's my issue with the whole thing.

yeah i agree and so do the others in here. the zune pad has bugs. lets face it. Microsoft has yet to fix them. I agree the pad is better than the iPod's clickwheel, but those flaws can make all the difference.

Zune 120

I love the touch navigation. I knew it had touch before I got it from reviews. My initial experience was a natural learning of how it works. I just slid my finger to change the selection. I caught on in less than a minute.

I control the Zune with just the print of my thumb in one hand.

I have trouble selecting items sometimes, it will scroll vertically when I try to select sometimes. It even selects the next or previous items sometimes. I wish it had touch to select (like a laptop trackpad), instead of having to click to select. Having touch select as an option would make my selecting much easier!

re: WANTED: Zunepad Feedback <stickied>
I would like to be able to see my ratings on my Zune.  I think that the next update should show the heart, broken heart, or nothing next to the song when seeing a list.  I think it should also show the heart in the bottom right when playing a song.  This would help me out very well because I don't know all of my music so I put hearts next to singles on albums so that I can try to listen and decide if I like it.

^ I pretty much agree with the above statement.  I had a lot of trouble getting used to where the center of the pad is but once I got it down it hasn't been a problem.  I becomes second nature after a while.  I do have the same problem though where the sensitivity takes over.  I'll go to click on something but it will bump one slot up or down and I will click the wrong thing.  But that isn't really a big deal.

re: WANTED: Zunepad Feedback <stickied>

Dude,

I have a blue 16 GB original myself and I love the idea of the zunepad.  It was hard to get used to at first because I was always looking for the center button like my 30GB has.

I just want you to know I am a bit sketchy on the zunepad since my zunepad failed recently and I had to send it in to be repaired or replaced or whatever you guys do with them.  I am just happy to have it back now.

I normally use it one handed with the tip of my thumb (no nail).  Sometimes it is sluggish when it has been playing things for a while or immediately coming off the computer after a sync (I tell windows to safely remove the zune).  Mostly it is pretty accurate when I slide it up or down.  The clicking is hard to get used to since sometimes it will click down and select video when i am trying to select music on the main menu.  I think thats mainly due to me not knowing where the center of the pad is all the time.  Keep up the good work in the develpement of this awesome line of superior music/video players.

Overall it works good, so feel free to send me a test model if you want to have some more feedback on future products! :)

Henry

re: WANTED: Zunepad Feedback <stickied>
I turned off the touch pad a while ago. It just didn't work for me. It would think I was doing one thing when I wanted another. I am perfectly happy using it as a d pad. Currently using it as a d pad it sometimes doesn't want to go left while playing Hexic. Those are my only issues. I like the option to turn it off, please keep this. I don't care for it but others I'm sure do.
