I had an issue with my 80G when I first bought it.  It was working fine, but when the battery would get to about 25% it would freeze and I would have to keep it on until the battery drained and then fully charge it before it would work again.  Luckily it happened within the first 30 days I had it, so I just brought it back to Best Buy and they exchanged it for a new one.  I would highly recommend that everyone buys the extended warranty on any Zune that they purchase from the retailer.  It seems M$ is really good at having products fail after the manufacture warranty expires.

People are just trying to make sure you understand that while you may be having problems, it's not related to the issue that affected the Zune 30's on December 31st.

My Zune 80 locked up exactly like that once last fall - on the start up screen. I had to let the battery run out and then once I charged it back up it was working fine and has been since. You may be having a problem, but it's not the same one as the 30's experienced. It can't be since it's different hardware.

I'm pretty pissed as well.  My year warranty just ran out a month ago.  I was on a trip to Florida.  My 80 GB worked fine the whole way down, but when I went to turn it on for the ride back home, it freezes and now gives me an error message.

its ridiculous that people are saying "oh no you're wrong" to us who have zunes that are not 30 GB and are not working. its obviously happening to many people out there. even if its not to all of them, there is definitely a problem. my 80 GB has been frozen for over a week now & I am sufficiently pissed off.

My 80GB is working perfectly .. just tested it 1 minute ago. 

 

Just the 30GB are affected it appears.

Yes, it is only affecting the 30gb. I also have a 120gb and it works brilliantly still. Your freezes must be unrelated.

We have both an 80 and a 120 at our house and both of them are stuck on the loading screen as well.... this DOES NOT appear to be limited to the 30GB!
