re: [Wishlist] - Account linking on Zune Pass
Create different user accounts on the PC itself, and don't point the Zune software to the shared folders. That should keep your msuic seperated.

The songs will still play even if you are logged into a different account, as long as it's the same computer. Trust me, I do this all the time. We have three computers and three Zunes, all are logged in to the same account to download music, I just switch to my personal account to upload plays. The Zune can play Zune Pass music from an account it isn't associated with social-wise, but it will appear in the list of Zunes and computers registered to that Zune pass in the account settings. The only thing that won't work is the Zune Card on device feature, that has been off and on for me.

Again this is my main issue.. I would not want all of my wife's, son's or daughter's music on my system and your first sentence says that would be required. With a family account each person would have their own download lists on their own computers.

I hate the thought of having to spend an additional $15/month for a second Zune pass.  I will have invested around $500.00 for two Zune 80g units, and $15/month for the Zune Pass.  Why should I spend another $15/month to rent more music?  My wife listens to mine occasionally but nowhere near as much as I do. We also have different tastes in music. It would be nice if there were a Zune "family" Pass that would allow use of up to 4 or 5 units on the one account.  Security could be tied-into the IP addy, but then the problem of logging in when you're away from your "home" computer...

I had suggested something like a family pass here http://forums.zune.net/220457/ShowPost.aspx  and think it would be a good idea as well.

Telepheedian, There is a couple reasons what you are suggesting will not work.  First off isn't the Zune Pass attached to my account alone?  If I logged in with my wife's account she would not be able to access any of the downloaded songs.  To get around that she would have to use her zune on my account.  This leads into problem number two.  Like AR71015, My wife and I have very different tastes in music. I listen to a lot of Celtic, Country and 80's Rock, she listens to Pop and Punk.  With a single Zune Pass I would have to download all her music on to my account and then we have to spend time going through and deciding which songs we wanted and did not want.

If you had a family pass that had a parent account (full price) and up to 3 child accounts tied to it (at a reduced price) then you could have 4 completely separate download sections.  This is already something that the Cell Phone companies do.  Just link the accounts by billing address and they all get billed through the parent account.

Is there the possiblity of four friends who do not live together, banding together and using this?  Yes but they would have to be very good friends as one person must be willing to pay the entire amount and then get reimbersed from the other three, so I do not see that as being a major issue.

I have an 80 gig Zune and an 80 gig iPod, and both are almost full...

re: [Wishlist] - Account linking on Zune Pass
Set up one, unrelated account with Zune Pass. Then, create two accounts for the users. Pay for Zune Pass on that one account, and log in to it when you need to download music, but otherwise, use the other account, for stuff like Social.

re: [Wishlist] - Account linking on Zune Pass
What about using the same zune pass on two different computers with two different accounts and two different zunes in the same household?  I havent been able to find a way to set that up if its even possible.  If its not when will it be?  The pass IS allowed for 3 pcs and 3 zunes.

I use my accounts the same way. It all works out, but I can't use the new Zune card feature on the device as if I am subscribed.
