I envision that this will come in the form of an update to the Zune player and allow a section to play this game. I then see that, just like a podcast, you can download a block of like 50 questions to your Zune and play it whenever you want. Even more like a podcast, you can have each block of 50 titled by the genre or decade it is in. That way, each person can choose to only download blocks that they want, not all of them. When they finish the block of 50 or blocks of 50 that they have downloaded, they just sync it up and Zune records all the correct answers or maybe just the overall score and it shows in the list of blocks that it has been completed. People then have the choice to delete completed blocks and download new ones or keep them to try for a better score.
Now, with this ability to play it on your Zune, obviously, it will be much different than online trivia games because we are restricted by the few buttons we have. So we can't have any questions where we give a typed answer. That leaves multiple choice or true and false. Although I do recognize that this creates a drawback to the game, I am hoping that the ability to take the game with you will make up for that. I also think it will be much easier to do questions with song clips or album art or even pictures of band members. The multiple choice doesn't even have to be A,B,C, or D. It can be a list of 10 or 15 choices to make it even more difficult.
As far as being able to submit trivia questions, I think that would be good. I think there could be a section here on the Zune site that gives you the opportunity to submit your own questions and also rate the ones out there now. With the rating, that will help any editors or moderaters needed for the questions. They can focus on the key points of a good question and the general public can pick apart everything else. I think that not only should we get points or credit or whatever for blocks of questions completed (with a passing score), but also for questions submitted or ratings given.
I went back thru the discussions and couldn't specifically see if we were discussing this as a 'forums'-only deal or if the 'Social' web portion could be utilized as well, so I focused my answers more on using 'Social'. Disregard if I missed something!

Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine. I think that more people need to get a Zune o_o
Dear jetherealz,
For the music trivia, it should have a main menu, so when you exit out of the game you don't have to restart, like apple did in their nano. on the menu, there should be genres of music for various quizzes, or all for all genres. the background should really be multicolored, as if it were a computer screen of the future. lastly, the transition effects should be awestrucking, so the game can addict as many people as possibe.
thanks for your help,
seBEASTian
P.S. you should include some three dimentional graphics so the game gives a modern appearance to the zunegamer, not an appearance that came from the 80's. also, there shouldn't be any corny music in the background. alternative or metal songs give it an adult-like appearance, not a childish one.
thanks again~!

My friends can take it to see how well they know me, and other people can take it to get to know me. This is totally personal and never becomes part of any other quiz. About Electronica (or another genre): This would be an editorially-driven electronica quiz - the more I know about electronica, the better I do! I can try to be the electronica expert on the Zune Social. About the '80s (or another year): Editorially-driven questions about the 80s (or whatever other year). Music Generalist: Questions from all the quizzes except for the "About Me" quiz - this would be a HUGE quiz, like hundreds or thousands of questions, and very few people would get a majority right and those people would get badges or something like in Xbox Live. I also think that while our editorial team can create the quizzes, it would be better if they did some and we allowed users to do some. So I could create my own "Electronica" quiz, and then if other people voted on my questions, maybe my questions could be included in the overall quiz? What do you think of that?

I like that! But there should be something to win at the end of the quiz or question or whatever you end up calling it. If your not an xbox player and just a Zune user, maybe an upgrade in your community ranking, or even better micro soft points which can be used all over the place.
Just a thought.
