wow, the more i sit here reading that everones zune 30 stopped working the more angry i get at microsoft! you know they knew some bull***t like this was going to happen and didnt get a fix for it in time or something! i havent seen anyone having this problem with newer zunes. a guy at my work has a newer one and i will ask him if he is having the same problem with his and i will report back.

Same deal here Zune30 is dead, had it since launch 2006 and never had a problem with it.

Mine too... perhaps this is a conspiracy... OMG!  I was hoping to find some resolution too... and I find that everyone with this type of Zune is having the same problem!!!

I took my Zune off the charger.  Letting the battery deplete will eventually make it switch off, and maybe it will restart properly when it is plugged back in.  Of course, by the time it finally runs out of power, Microsoft should have a solution for us.

My only fear is that since Zunes can no longer boot up the Zune software can no longer recognize the Zune so even if Microsoft released a fix how would it install to a frozen device?

I\ wonder just how many posts with this problem are going to pop up?

I have an original 30, and woke up with it stuck in the start-up screen.

It's a little black paperweight right now.  Been hearing good things about the Sansa...

Of course they knew about this problem but like always they are going to pretend they didn't. They sold the defective Windows Vista and did they refund people's money? Hell No!!! Then they tried to sell out as "The Mojave Project". They really haven't gotten a solution to it and like with Windows the best bet is to purchase a newer zune, well in the windows problem it was to purchase to the previous Windows version. Maybe the best bet is to purchase an Ipod.
