re: An invitation to help me design a new feature
I would love to participate...I got 2 teenagers at home that would love to beta test any ideas, as long as they have access; and we also have several ideas that could take Zune to the next level, but not willing to post for anyone to "grab up".  Count me/us in on any feedback on any new available features!

I love my Zune But...
Don't get me wrong I love my Zune but I really don't like the new software.
I'd prefer the original software because it was much easer to use.
I loved the "Advanced Track Editor" and it was more like a "windows media player" that connected to your Zune.
Now it's more like (and I hate to say it) i tunes.

For the software on the Zune itself it's ok but I don't like how the menu letters are so huge, it takes the beauty away from my background.
For the next software update you should be able to chose the "font" and it would be cool if Zune you selfs could be able to text each other.
And you must bring "Advanced Track Editor" BACK.

Another thing that would be cool is if you could set backgrounds for individual songs. I have to go threw the trouble of changing the album art of the artist to set the back ground.

re: An invitation to help me design a new feature

As I put more thought into this, I thought this would be a cool feature.  How about a section on the website that deals with upcoming projects and features associated with the Zune.   It could include some video and or interviews that could be viewed on the Zune or on the website, a progress bar, and designer thoughts and comments. A behind the scenes look at the development and design process.  This would be a great feature for users and people who are looking to buy so they can see that the Zune is an evolving product.  Your thoughts?

I'd love to see a feature that connects me with users who have similar musical tastes. Rather then comparing entire listening history, I would think that comparing -I'm not sure, maybe that last 20 plays. The similarity could be done by genre, band, or even by specific tracks.

re: An invitation to help me design a new feature
Something i'd really love to see would be Xbox Live Gamercard and Zune Card blended into one. For example, putting the 360 logo on there along with the reputation stars and gamerscore. This one would probably be 360 staff, but when people play their music on 360 through their Zune why doesn't it automatically show on the Zune Card what I listened to? And finally, a universal status that works with both cards. Someone listening to a song or playing a game on their 360? Have it show up just like someone's status on Xbox 360. "Playing Mass Effect", or "Getting new music in Zune Marketplace", maybe even "Zune: 'Pain' Three Days Grace". Something that shows up on both cards. I know this is hardware related, but this would be pretty nice also. Since the Zune first launched, the only way you could check for nearby Zune owners is to manually poll the area using the scan feature. This one is borrowed off of the scanner from Metriod Prime DS...how about a Zune Social Scanner?! You go to a busy place like the mall and set it to scanner, and it not only alerts you when you have someone in range with a Zune that has their scanner activated, but you can choose to send your card to them manually or possibly automatically. Then later, you can see who's cards you got and send them a message. Or even add them to your friends list. Finally, and i'll quit my rambling, someone mentioned checking their friends through Live with the Zune. Why not have a Wi-Fi detector in the Zune that alerts you when you're at a wi-fi hotspot and can connect your Zune to the internet. From there, upload the songs you recently listened to and have it added to your card, check to see who's on Xbox Live, even recieve game invites and have personalized pre-selected messages for when you're not at home. Okay, i'm getting off my soapbox now.
