Zune restarts while listening to music.

Back once again!!! My Zune played without restarting for over 8 hours continusly!!!! 2.5 keeps my Zune alive!!!!!

I have one of the Zunes that kept playing without resetting only if the backlight was set to "always on" This doesen't work for everyone! Those people probably have a differen't problem causing resets.

If you don't mind, I'd like to know what caused the restarts in general and why keeping the backlight on stopped them. It would be very interesting to find out!! My best guess would be a code spill over that was overwritten by the "always on" mode. Am I right???

I haven't finished reading from here (wasn't online for a couple of days) but I updated my Zune to 2.5 and I'm still having the restart problem - thought maybe it was fixed but about a half hour into playing, it restarted again.  I saw something about the backlight (which I have turn off after 15 or maybe 30 secnds) so I'll finish reading and find out what others are saying.  But as off right now, my Zune is still doing it (Lot #0643 - one of the very first ones - it is a replacement so I'm not sure if it's from the same lot but I'm assuming it is or the lot immediately following it because I bought my Zune just a few days after it was released and our local Staples got it - and it wasn't very long after I got it (MAYBE a month, possibly 2 but no more than that if that long!) that it stopped working properly and it wouldn't reset or reinitialize or anything so Zune sent me a replacement). 

I'll finish reading and see what others are saying and if the backlight doobie seems to be a problem solver, I'll try it.  I charge it every night anyway so it won't hurt to leave the light on.....I hope.

i think the update fixed mine, only played a playlist 14 songs in lis,t no restart

This is the experiment we've been waiting for!!!!! If the backlight on thing doesen't work, It's a different issue causing the restarts!!!

i remember dropping my Zune hard on the floor in my school way back in February, and now my Zune device doesn't respond to anything at all, it freezes up in the middle of a song, video, or picture slideshow....when i press Right or Left to go the next or previous song/video/picture, it just freezes up for awhile, and the length of the "ZuneFreeze" varies every time, sometimes it just freezes for like 2 seconds, and sometimes it freezes for about 3 minutes until it goes to the next item....and NOW, when I've reset the damn thing about 3000000000 times, i just cleared all the content, and it doesn't wanna seem to go at all, it just says "Cleaing contents. Please wait." and i have no clue wat to do
