PETITION: Add WMP Support!

Ok ppl we need to keep this thread alive and at the top.  I agree 100 percent.  If it is a matter of the zune marketplace then cant they just add it to me media guide tab on wmp or just make a new tab for zune marketplace.  Anyway keep this thread alive they will have to respond to it sooner or later if not then a petition could easily turn into a boycott.

WMP Supprt For Zune!!!

As someone that hates flaming as much as the next guy I would normally agree w/ you....but in this case I think its justified.

The Zune Team NEEDS to hear how pissed off we are to like a flame under their asses and correct these serious issues...

If no one complained how would the Zune Team know their product was pretty unanimously considered sucky?

These are remedial glitches that should've been QA'ed out LONG before this device was brought to market.  But they all tie into the fact that MS is errecting a proprietary wall around Zune to lock you into the Zune Marketplace.  If they didn't want that, they would've just allowed Zune device to play well with WMP which is solid and proven.

Locking in to the Zune Marketplace is certainly one element that drove the implementation of the new non-WMP-based software.  But the "social" was another reason.  It has become pretty obvious that the 2nd Gen Zune (hardware/software) is shifting away traditional PMP users and drifting towards a  "MySpace Mobile" environment.  Great for the teens and tweens who want that, not so great for those of us who were looking for an PMP experience superior to Apple's offering.

While the WMP-based software is very appealing to traditional PMP users, it is a road-block in the path to MySpace Mobile.

Open up the format!  allow people to do what they want.  If someone wants to pirate music they will find a way.  Don't punish law abiding zune listeners by forcing them to use substandard software.

The whole concept of antipiracy protection is crazy,  the cat is out of the bag, the cow is out of the barn...  music is already very transferable, it's already on my computer I could just email it as an attachment... 

 

Rilo57, there is no "anti-piracy protection" unless you are talking about DRM content from Zune Pass subscription, or part of the Zune Marketplace catalog that isn't available in MP3.  (As dictated by the music content owners.)  Also, the majority of concerns with the very basic 2.0 software was resolved in 2.5.

I agree, big time, I'm getting sick of hearing a song, and checking to see what I'm listening to, and seeing the complete wrong artist, song name, album, and/or album art.  There is a way to fix it, but it's not permanant.

Agreed!! i like to work with the WMP software better, i use it to update my files, THEN send it to zune.. and then REFIX it... its a pain... so yes, add WMP support PLEASE!!!

Looks like this no brainer will never happen. Like the Zune Tatto Guy, I just don't give a crap any more. Since my last post, I moved on and besides my 160 classic, I got an iPhone, and then a 3g iP. Amazing technology. Having been a WiMo user since '97 (Windows Ce) M$ has now lost my Pocket PC/SmartPhone  money. Still using PCs exclusively. But frankly, that's only because I prefer to have a tablet, and I'm not comfortable getting a hackintosh. If the speculation is right that could all change in October.

Way to go M$! I was always a fair weather friend... but you guys lost ZUNE TATTOO GUY!!?? Pathetic. Innovate or die.

I wish that they wouldn't mix up the songs when organizing a playlist by artist name. For instance itunes had it by artist, album, and then the order that the songs appeared in the album. This is seriously annoying. The player is not organized, it feels like they had a good idea, and were rushed and just threw it out there to make their project leads happy. Something I would not pus past MS. Look at Vista for goodness sakes, full of flaws. Anywho point made.

*Fix the GUI (more streamlined and functional less "cool" looking)
*Fix the organization of songs
*add a WMP option
*potentially add the option to custom the player so that all playlists could be viewed in a seperate window, while browsing other songs, making the     --creation of playlists A LOT easier
* Bring the visualizations back!!!!!
* Lose the girly color scheme: something that could be darker, grayer, and less.... pink

Completely agree. I love the zune social and may still use the zune software even if WMP were supported, but there's no excuse for not at least supporting WMP for those that choose to use it.

I agree 100%, zune software is crap, but there is one thing u should know.  There is actually software out there that allws you to sync your zune with windows Media Player and Winamp. Its called zAlternator.  Message me here for details.

I'm all for better windows integration and media player support. 

Microsoft is such a big crusader against piracy and the protection of intellectual property, yet they've been stealing peoples ideas and using them as there own for years and have never paid a single penny for them, not to mention actually seeking permission to use them. Microsoft are the worlds single most profitable pirates of stolen intellectual property.
