You're kind of missing the point of the Zune Pass.  Its a subscription service.  If you stop paying your cable bill, do they let you keep watching those channels?  Of course not. If you want to keep the music, you have to buy it outright.  But if you download any significant amount of music, this service more than pays for itself over a long period of time.

My biggest gripes with the Pass have been discussed already, but I'll pile on.  You need to allow the Zune accounts associated with the devices on the account to be linked to the subscription.  I hate having to log in as my wife to download music.  And second, I really dislike that certain songs are not downloadable. Its one thing if an entire artist or album is unavailable. But when they have albums available for purchase and then on the Pass they let you download the whole album except the more "popular" songs, that gets on my last nerve.  Other than that, the guy with the well laid out list had the right idea....

iTunes is thinking about making a subscription service where you can keep all of your songs, for 5 bucks more than the zune pass, i mean whats to prevent me from switching to them, i want to be able to keep my songs!

itunes letting you keep all your songs for 5 bucks? Lmao. No offense.

5 bucks MORE than zune pass = 20 bucks/month

Oh ok... for 20 bucks I could buy 3 cd's with that in yourmusic.com every Month or download 20 songs DRM free from Amazon.com. I personally think the Zune subscription should be lowered 10 to 12 dollars because you can't keep them. The whole point of a subscription service is listen to your favorite music and buy them if you like.

What? For 20 bucks a month you can download as much as you want and keep it forever? That seems to make no business sense at all. What's to stop user's from subscribing for a month download several thousand albums and then canceling their subscription?

After doing some searching the closest I've seen to this (besides speculation) is that iTunes is providing a subscription for comedy central programs, which really isn't a subscription service, essentially a bulk buy package.

Music i want
Now i am sure i will sound stupid but i am a little upset. I just want to know why alot of my music isn't for sale. For example, I Love Garth Brooks music... but it isn't for sale. His songs in my market place are just faded gray. When I look up oldies music almost none of it is avalible, all the albums in the bottom right corner have the dumb pink circle with a slash thru it. I don't know; i am just mad i spent so much money on this dang thing, and can't even get the songs I want thru the zune marketplace. if there is a way to get this music i want, help me find it, Please.

Hey, both of you stop arguing about a failing company (apple). CT2049 Stop picking on Bruinkiller69 too. He'll send you a link, right Bruinkiller69? Please send him a link. So that the whole Zune community and I too can see this article. Cause I think this is good news. All you can eat for 20 bucks is a freakin good deal. I'm going to download a lot of my favorites and fill up my 1Tb external HD. Then cancal my subscription. And I get to keep them forever right? (till I die). Bruinkiller69 please prove him wrong. I'm in you side.

i saw that on the yahoo one..but i couldnt find it.. im 100% sure it was there tho, this one talks about increasing price of the devices to do it...so its not rly a subscription but, once you buy the ipod or w/e you get free music, thats what it says

Sorry I'm just not seeing that you described earlier (unlimited music that you keep forever). Everything I've seen (and not just about iTunes) has also been speculation or pipe dreams. I'm being kind of a cynic here, but until I see a business state this is what they are doing I just won't believe it. The business model just makes no sense.

Also, I'm not picking on Bruinkiller, I just wanted to know more.

Also, Apple is not a failing company.
