Zune 80 availability = Zero

Also, I just called a Wal-Mart that I had been to this morning to see if they had gotten any in between then.  The dude said with confidence that he was looking at a Zune 80.  I asked this TWICE!  So, I hurry up and drive 20 miles to this Wal-Mart only to find that he was looking at the cardboard mockups.  On top of that, he said they didn't get any new Zune 30's either.  I told him they weren't new at all and he actually tried to tell me that the new Zune 30's were as thin as the this cardboard. I told him this was not the case.  He insisted it was and that the Zune 80 was also that thin.  Not even an iPod is this thin.  *eugh...Pure Ignorance.

Thats the battle of a new(ish) contender for ya. These supply problems don't help either. The guy I met at CC didn't even try to find the zunes. The store didn't have ANY zunes but some old dusty 30s and he looked at em and handed to me and i was like dude...it says 30 on the daggum box. Then he preceded to tell me that they get shipments a day or two late..which is kinda rediculous given the best buy literally next door had the 4s and 8s and had em for days and days.

 

i'm pretty annoyed right now...pretty dang annoyed.

I work for BB in MAssachusetts. we have the 4s and 8s. No 80s. We dont even show them en route.....

Just adding my voice to the group.

Visited (in order):
1. Costco (no zunes whatsoever)
2. Walmart (only had the old 30s)
3. Target (which had the display [ie fake] new 4, 8, and 80's next to a display case that had the ACTUAL 4 and 8)
4. Best Buy (had the 4 and 8)
5. Radio Shack (only the old 30s and an annoying salesman who basically chased me out of there offering to sell me a fabulous gps device at a wonderful price)
6. FYE (only the old 30s)
7. Sears (a display for the new zunes [all three] but only the old 30s in stock)
8. Gamestop

I'm not an expert on these things, but I think it's safe to say that the Zune 80's should be getting to these stores within the week.  Keep calling people, it's going to be a long week for those of us still on the hunt.  If you get some good news let us all know!

I got 2 from circuit city today.  If you buy it online you can pick it up later.  That's what I did.  I purchased them while I was at work and then picked them up when I got off.  Great deal if you ask me!!!!!

I also picked one up from Circuit City.  I ordered online first thing this morning then drove 25miles to pick it up.  They had two, I wish I had got both of them, my wife has already fallen in love with my 80gb Zune...

I went to best buy which only got 4's and 8's, then I went to circuit city and they already sold out of them and then I tried walmart and they only had the 4's and 8's.  I want to pick up a new Zune before my trip during thanksgiving so I could use it but it is getting pretty difficult.  Any knews on availability, or is online the best bet.

It's already been decided by some people that a lot of these stores aren't going to be selling it because statistics show they won't sell well enough

I too am waiting until I can get it customized in "early Dec". But I wanted to see one in person before choosing to get a new one. I am concerned about the glass front and aluminum back being as scratch resistent as the Zune 30's. A factor I value very highly. I realize that the back was intended so that it can be lighter and allow the customizing laser etchings but if it scratches like an ipod I'm holding onto my 30giger.

Amazon's ship date is now 11/23.  I think I'll just keep my preorder in place...

me too i havent found one either and the walmart guys just told me that they were supposed to get them in, but they havent arrivied yet so im hoping today i can grab one
