My 8gb is having all kinds of problems.  I do switch songs constantly, as I use it in class for teaching, and since the upgrade, it is very difficult to use.  Will not play the next song I choose, going back to the previous song ( I do switch around from playlist to artist, to album) and then stopped working with my speaker system.  It also started freezing up.  Is there anyway to go back to the previous version?

My 4GB player was fine last night when I updated the new software, but this morning when I paused a song it frozed on me. I can't shut the device off or reboot it, like its stuck period, and the hold is unlock and the battery was charged. I cant get the thing work either on the computer, cause they said the device is not connected (which it was connected) I hope they fix this asap. In the mean time, I guess I have to let the battery run out since I can't shut the damn thing off Angry [:@]

Look up KB article 927001

Follow the instructions for doing a full device restore, and then re-sync your content.

It should behave much better.

Spent the entire evening doing this and than reinstalling everything. This morning "freeze". Still no good.

It's a navigation feature, probably. Maybe specifically for first generation which may be slower to navigate with the buttons (doesn't happen on my 80, even without touch).

My 80Z worked perfect until Friday and then it froze up out of nowhere. I couldn't get it to unstick or turn off. Finally I got it to turn off 2 hours later somehow.

Confirmed on original white Zune 30 gb.

Definitely a buzz-kill when this "freezing" happens while you are having a party with them ladies shakin their thang and your music dies out :(

This freezing occurs on my device at the last few seconds of a song. When its nearing the end, I start scrolling for a new song, hit play and then it freezes. Most likely cuz of the 3.0 update, which I was skeptical to download, but the games sold me on it haha.

Also, if you put the back of the device to your ears you can clearly hear it running but the screen remains black. I've had no luck turning it back on or off for that matter. I have to wait until the battery completely drains overnite, then recharge it again in the morning.

This has happened 3 nights in a row. First problem I've EVER encountered with my Zune and I've had it for nearly 2 years now, so I am not that disappointed.

Please fix this bug!

I'm having the same problems since the update. Before the update my Zune worked flawlessly. Since the update it freezes just about every time I switch from one song to another. If it's just playing straight through an album, playlist, etc. no problem. But try switching from one album/artist to another.
Freeze down willy and I got to restart the deal.
