re: PETITION: Add WMP Support!
perhaps you've missed the post where it's been stated by a Zune Team member they're working on an update for a Janurary '08 release.  In all seriousness though you are entirely to angry and childish to even be using the internet.  You take the software and device way to personally.  Seek counselling to deal with these anger issues you have they are not healthy.

LOL!! @ The beatings will continue until morale improves !!!

I pretty much feel the same way .. a WMP 11 designed for Zune would have been awesome. But i dont think they will go back on that. Fine, however this new software  in my opinion is simply eye candy without the necessary features for competent media management..

I sincerely hope that the update that is promised fixes these issues that so many of us have.

Cheers

re: PETITION: Add WMP Support!
Personally I liked the old software and used it a lot more than WMP. I'd preffer they just replicate the functions of the old Zune software when fixing Zune 2 over replacing it with WMP. As for making it WMP compatible and fixing the software, I don't see that happening...

re: PETITION: Add WMP Support!
so we go to back to a WMP format and then all flexibility is taken away from the zune team when it comes to updating......sounds awesome.......but not really.

Why is flexibility taken away when updating? All I'm saying is there was nothing wrong with the original Zune software, so just keep the main features of that software and do whatever you want with the looks or any additional features you want to add.

Which is a damn shame because it actually worked ... and well at that ...

As for taking away flexibility from the developers: You think its good business sense to take flexibilty away from the consumer who buys your product  a la version 2?

I think instead of everyone being a flaming assbag they should allow the Zune Team to impliment the things they want to impliment properly instead of jumping down their throats and acting as if they are all worthless and incapable of making a solid product.

Doesn't work that way dingleberry! We, the customers, tell the vendors/manufactures what we want. Not the other way around. 6 to 1 Jobs has gotten my wallet's vote. Also, if the 80% market share and this random post are any indication, I'm not the only one:

That proof, it would seem, is in the pudding.

re: PETITION: Add WMP Support!
Consider my name on the petition....but they'll probably never give the Zune WMP support.

REASON: the Zune sw locks you into the Zune Marketplace.....and that means $$$ for Microsoft....at the expense of us users.

It all boils down to dollars....the only way Microsoft will listen is if they're losing $ in Zune sales because the user community is making potential customers go to iPod...or iRiver...or SANdisk...or any of the hundreds of MP3 players that work properly.
