The tracking system Zune's customer service gave me is still "non-existent"

I'm probably going to have to call them back AGAIN...

The Twilight Zune, Part V (update):  Website status finally updated, but the NIGHTMARE continues nonetheless.

Tuesday 1/29/08, ~noon.  Today is Business Day 19, calendar day 28 since the Zune was delivered to the repair facility in McAllen, TX.  This ordeal began on December 16, 2007, first phone call to Zune on Dec 19, 2007.  In the Zune return box, as requested by the Zune folks, I provided a "Duplicate" copy of the Best Buy receipt (the original Best Buy receipt faded to nothing, Best Buy printed the duplicate for me on 12/20/07).  That receipt shows the purchase of this player as April 14, 2007.

 

The status information on the website has finally been updated to show, "Device Received at Service Center", but still shows as "Out of Warranty".

    uh oh...I sent mine in 2 weeks ago and the site shows the service is waiting for it and my warranty is out...even though i bought it in november...looks like i might be in your boat too...

    Well yours is just worse then mine, but I am in the same boat you are, except that they received it and then the next call they haven't received it, even though I tell them and have them look at the fed ex web site.

     

    Super Angry [8o|]  It has finally came to my attention that, Microsoft ZUNE, has us by the go-nads and are holding our devices hostage and we are at there mercy.  Since my delema of shipment problems, they inform me that they cannot replace my device at this time.

     

    Well continue to read this thread to see if it can help you in anyway with your problems.

    i could write a better story....and i haven't even been able to sync up my zune for more than 1 minute!!!!

    two models....1 month....and no replacement box at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!


    forget this crap, i'm going back to apple. i've scoured the forums, i've talked to about 5 reps....i've even tinkered myself and still haven't found the solution to my problems

    well, I called zune last night, gave them the FEDEX tracking number and they said that the device was in the repair que and should be done by the end of this week. Still no update on zune.net...but they didn't know why, as if I thought they would know why....lol

    Boy do you have patients and detail that really helped. I will save your post just for the phone numbers.

    I got my zune 30gb thru a citi bank rewards program and got to enjoy it for almost a week. Today it had the black screen of death. I tried just about everything on the forum but not a phone call. I did call citi rewards and they are graciously accepting the return. I went to circuit city and bought a new 80gb. Good luck with your repair.
