re: New Zune
Everyone at one point or time in one way or another will violate the CoC/TOS/EULA and most people will just ignore it.  However it is rare to find someone who will actually dedicate their forum account to getting rid of one person through threats, bullying, etc etc etc like Norrath has.  Been on plenty of forums and never ever run into a person like Norrath ever.

At this point both of you have violated these "what not to do" rules...

I completely agree this thread went from talking about the possible price of the new Zune to a personal attack thread! To be honest "Stoic" and "Norrath" were both wrong and took it way out of hand.

Believe it or not I don't care and you are the easiest person in the world to bait into a pointless one-sided argument.  Seriously who are you trying to impress or prove anything too?  That you at one time may have been employed and/or contracted by a sub-division of MS?  Whether you are or not is of no consequence as far as the Zune Team and this site is concerned you are a NOBODY just like everyone else so deal with it.

Other examples of complete immaturity and (I assume) grown men acting like 13 yr olds:
Stoic:
Your first mistake was not giving a source. I understand that you think speculation is the same as a rumor, but rumors come from somewhere and people want to know where. It would have also been find if you would have said it was your opinion, there's nothing wrong with that but people (including myself) want to know where info comes from. I don't take everything I read and believe it to be true but that doesn't change the fact that I want to know where info comes from.

Norrath:
Your first mistake was that your first post in the thread seemed a little rude and when "Stoic" replied to you it was pretty obvious you to had a... "soiled" past.
 Norrath Reaver wrote:

Right and they asked for the source of the speculation...

You said, "... speculation has grown..." which is a false statement is you are the only source of said speculation.

So why not just simply answer the question :)

A simple "Where did you get your info?"  would have been even more helpful!

Soiled Past??:

Lost your other argument so now you're looking to start another?  Speculation is equal to rumor is equal to baseless nothings.  Your argumentative nature is immature and old, try something different for once.   http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/speculation

Stoic:
Second mistake is that in the SECOND post someone ask where you got your info. If you would have given sources then, Norrath probably would have not even posted and this thread would have still been about the Zune and not "Norrath vs. Stoic" or vice versa. Not only that but the link you provided to the definition of "speculation" doesn't really prove your point that speculation is the same as rumor, sorry I even read the page to make sure (yes I'm that bored that i actually read the entire page!).

Norrath and Stoic:
Whether you guys realize it or not you're fighting a losing battle! It doesn't matter who's who or who has what authority the truth is you both are going to fight for the lst word and it'll never end! So I think that unless either of you have something to contribute to the (growing?) speculation over the price of the new zune hD, neither of you should post, because some people may look at this thread for INFORMATION and not BS entertainment.

P.S. - No need to reply to my post I'm not looking for an argument just looking for info about the Zune HD (like many other people are)!
From CoC:
Don't engage in any non-Zune-related conversation that takes up a substantial amount of the forum space and prevents members from finding Zune-related information.
Just keep that in mind, your disagreement may not seem to "take up a substantial amount of forum space" to you but for me it takes up way more space then necessary!

P.S.S -

Maybe it's time for you to let it go as well...

RP So Flii.

The only history that we have is that Mike here spent months trolling a thread about getting a Zune EQ, which he has finally stopped.

Then he personally insulted me in another thread that was for people who are going through problems in life.  Up until the point of my posting in that thread he hadn't harassed anyone, but the instant one of my posts appeared he did.  He was pretty damned vicious about it.

Since then I'm not nice to him.  I'm blunt and speak my mind.  He does the same all the time, but can't handle it when it's thrown back to him.

He's a hypocritical ass who can't take what he dishes.

He also will never state a 'source' for any rumors he posts because he's always the source of those rumors.  He makes them up and then just plops them down to see if the fur will fly.

My posts convey no rights or guarantees, and are in no way related to or endorsed by my employers.

haha that was so months ago (like way long months ago).  You've also got yourself, Swanlee, Beautiful Melody, and a slew of others not named st0icr4ven "trolling" that EQ thread and have been for months.  Again you're whole "i'm better then you" attitude while you simply refuse to acknowledge everything in it's entirety and properly is to say the least and to use a term you seemed to be found of "hypocrtical"

I thought they stated at E3 2009 that they were doing away with flash memory based zunes and I can't recall where I heard this but I heard they are going to price it competitively to the ipod touch. So if it is not Flash memory then it's SSD (Solid State Drive). And also to the people arguing with each other; you all failed to solve the problem and dragged it out, showing us that none of you (except the people who tried to solve it for you and point out you all made mistakes) would rather argue like an insecure step-child instead of saying "hey, we were in the wrong and your point has been taken." It's english not math; we have diferent meanings for some words.

Ok I'm not to bright when it comes to the insides of the zune, but if they switched to SSD instead of flash would that make it cheaper or more expensive?

SSD would drive up the price substantially or at least I think based on the prices for SSD drives I looked at.

So if what the other guy said is possibly true, what would cause them to switch from flash to SSD? I would assume flash is faster, but I could be wrong.

re: New Zune
dun know which is faster from what I saw SSD has more storage capacity.  If memory serves me correctly the largest commercially available flash drive is 64GB and the largest SSD is 128GB (I could be wrong).  Again though the price difference between SSD and Flash is massive and I don't think MS would actually take that big of a hit on the Zune device itself.

SSD=Solid State Drive.  It means a 'drive' that is made from (solid state) silicon instead of a rotating magnetic disk.  But the solid state 'silicon chips' used could  be flash or another version of silicon memory, such as SRAM or DRAM.  SSD are usually compared to hard disks, and have advantages of low latency and fast access times (you don't have to wait for the disk to spin to the right place for your data...)  The primary difference between Flash and an SSD is the way it interfaces to the system.  An SSD 'looks and connects' like a disk drive to the zune or the PC, etc.  While Flash looks like....well, it looks like silicon memory.   SSDs tend to have higher capacity probably because they compete to replace magnetic disk drives, which now have very high capacities in small form factors.
I tend to doubt that MS would build a Zune to use an SSD...that would seem to just complicate the interface for no good reason.

From what Mike and St0ic said it does seem like it would be unnecessary to make the switch, but only time will actually tell what they (MS) do.
