I have the same problem as all of you.  Came down about 6:30 am EST and my 30 GB is locked up at the loading screen.  I guess it is either a date related malfunction or a virus.  I also have had mine for two years without any problems.

Mine has done the same thing.  This is definately a widespread issue.  I couldnt believe all the other people having the same issue today.

Just tried to turn on my zune and what do you know I have the frozen screen of death. This is very disappointing next time I am going to be buying an ipod than zune that has too many problems. I am now another dissatisfy customer.

Add me to the list. Was working fine yesterday. Woke up this AM and sitting at the logo screen. I have had my 30 for 2 years and it worked fine till today.

Me too, i use it non-stop. Wow, so many posts so quickly, all 30 gb models, all at the same local time on same night, something is defiantly up with the MS zune software. I'm thinking class action! And I will spend every spare moment telling people why not to buy a zune if this is not resolved. Mine is less than a year old bought brand new from Dell but warranty is expired according to my zune support page.

I have 2 Zune 30's.  Both of them are locked up tight on the boot screen.  I have a party I am hosting this evening and there is a playlist that I want to play at it.  I am SERIOUSLY pissed off.  Neither one of my zunes has been connected to a computer in the last day or two so I suspect a clock problem...or a virus with a delay.  How will we know if somebody comes up with a fix?

Same issue here.  Woke up and my Zune 30 was locked up at the loading screen.  Tried all button combinations and nothing happened.  Checked around online and noticed that this seems to have happened to everyone at 12:00PST.

Hooray for Y2K9!

There has been other threads about this issue... other websites as well.. It seems to be worldwide First the faulty Xbox 360s (I had to go through about 4) then 12/31/08 30g Zune R.I.P Microsofts Motives are now obvious ($$$$$)

My zune 30 G  ia also frozen...... It has ZUNE on the screen and does not take any command. Please help!!!
