Mine, too. 30GB, 1st gen, was just opening music and suddenly reset and frozen. 2:00 am central time. This is bizarre.

ohoh yeah I agree! That's what creeped me out the most, I had my wireless turned off and it wasn't plugged in or anything. So something had to be in there the whole time. Y2K08 I tell you! Surprise [:O]

I think it had more to do with the Device's internal clock and some improper configuration. Oh well. I can see it now...

"No, Microsoft, I don't want to print my shipping label and provide my own box..." (My Xbox 360 has broken 4 or 5 times now, just broke again on Christmas).

Am I the only one that sees hilarity in all of this? Also, if the people who hard reset there's, doesn't that mean, that for the one's like myself, who are gonna let the battery die, and restart it self, think it's gonna be fine? And find a silly "response" about this deal later today?

Um? I have a first gen zune i think its the 8 Gb? Anyways, this just happened to me. I was downloading a few songs to take to the desert tomorrow, didn't hear any kind of sound just looked down and noticed after my zune was syncing it reloaded... last time i checked my zune doesn't reboot every time it syncs so yup im stuck at 100% status with no response from the reset commands happened around 12:20 AM, wow, this is lame i've never had a problem with my zune until now, whats up? I'm not cracking my case open but thank you for sharing your info for anyone willing to do that.

yea...exactly 1am on the west coast as someone mentioned earlier. 

Realizing the liklihood of Microsoft hooking me up with a new Zune, I'm probably going to open mine up and fix it so i can let it charge and synch (again).  Even if they see this outraged forum, they'll realize that we're all just bored at 1,2,3 am and looking for excitement.

I don't want a new zune i want MY zune to be functioning, Unless microsoft is willing to custom make a new one with the same black/blue finish as mine and let me tear out the hard drive and break it into tiny pieces (on the one i currently own). Then i'll gladly take a new one.

OK I JUST PUT MY EAR TO THE BACK OF MY ZUNE THERES A BUZZING SOUND SO I THINK THE HARD DRIVE IS FRIED PUT YOUR EAR TO YOUR EAR AND TELL ME WHAT YOU HEAR
