Immediately after the 3.0 update (8 gb) neither my computer nor the zune software recognize my zune. It is an unknown device in all of my USBs as well as those of other computers. I tried to install the correct drivers for it but they are supposedly already installed.
I tried uninstall/reinstall of the zune software, restore the device software (about 15 times, never did anything but go back to menu page and play my songs...), a system restore on my computer... and for some reason when I choose my restore point as the day I updated my zune software, there is an error and the restore cannot complete My zune charges and functions on its own fine.
I, too, am regretting this purchase. My boyfriend's iTouch has no problems with any updates, features, games, accessories, etc; to be blunt, this sucks. $200 down the drain.
Any help would be appreciated.

I thought you said the money was already down the drain?
Anyways...you said you "restore the device software" do you mean that you actually followed the instructions in KB927001?

It's easy to poke when people change songs frequently while listening.
Think about it....how often do you change a song while listening?

I'm sure the team has definitely seen this and studied the problem already. Hopefully it might be fixed in the next major release. For now I'll gladly force myself to avoid switching songs at the end, as it appears to be the only thing going wrong for my player. I seem to be missing many of the other ailments others are experiencing. Hopefully a moderator will close this as I think it has served its original purpose and we should make room for other issues. Thank you to those who responded as requested (and not off topic.)
This is because of different files. When using MP3 files, it will for SURE freeze. On WMA, the counter will start but the music doesn't play until about 20 seconds later, or it freezes. Fortunately the first happens more often. Can someone help confirm this?
AaronDude33 wrote:yep mine is freezing up too. Seems to do it if I move around a little too fast or skip to another track or try to go back to the beginning of the track at certain times. Doesn't anyone test products anymore? This is just one of the many bugs on the zune firmware.
Actually this is pretty much the only firmware related bug I've seen for 3.0.
Also yes people do test products....one thing I've learned in my time is that it is rarely the testers fault.
