re: An invitation to help me design a new feature

It woulde be cool if you made it so you can check your zune page and messages from the zune itself, using the wireless feature, maby look at your friends recent plays too.

I've already touched grounds on that basis here.
I do think that Xbox Live integration, as far as receiving messages in your inbox from Xbox Live friends, and having your Zune card displayed under the 'Personal' tab under your profile tab, along with your Bio and Windows Live Messenger data. It doesn't even have to be interactive, even though the Xbox 360 would fully support this. I just think that people should be able to view your Zune card from the 360, because the services are integrated. They should also include the individual's Display Pic from Windows Messenger, in the Windows Messenger chats. But these are issues for the Xbox design team. The Zune card would be a nice suggestion to make, though, from the Zune design team to the Xbox design team.

re: An invitation to help me design a new feature

I have never seen how the Xbox integration woks, but I think you guys have it on something with the LIVE integration.  We sign in with our LIVE ID here, yet it is really a seperate ID.  It would be nice to have to option to use the same indentity with them both, and to include the web messenger chat here as well.

It might also be nice then to tie in any Microsoft badges (i.e - registered partner, virtual tech, etc) here through your LIVE ID.   Jeth, that would also give you something else to go from besides just the number of posts for formulating our level or rating.

This is a fantastic idea.  I have some development experience and though I'm sure I won't be "recruited" as a developer, I would be happy to extend some of my knowledge.

Bravo, Zune team.  Add me to the list!

Your Zune tag name and Xbox tag name are the same. The points on your accounts are interchangeable, and your friends from Xbox Live all show up on your Zune friends and vice versa. They're practically the same thing, if they can just intermingle them.
As far as the keyboard goes, it's just a basic on screen keyboard that you input characters in 1 by 1 by moving the cursor to the particular character and selecting it. This would be extremely easy to do on the Zune, and it would open the door for Wi-Fi.

Sorry I wasn't real clear with that post.  What I meant was not the Zune and Xbox ID could be the same, but the Zune, Xbox and LIVE id could be the same.  My messenger friends could show up here as well and when in messenger my Zune profile page could be accessible.

re: An invitation to help me design a new feature

Well...

I don't have an idea for the community, but I do have an idea for an update on the Zune itself. I have over 500 music videos on my Zune and the only problem I have with that is that I have to individually pick them. I would really love it if someone made it to where I could shuffle my videos like we can our MP3's. To me that just sems like common sense.  I mean it's just a video under 5 minutes or so, so you'd think you'd be able to have that option. Whether you have to turn it on and off or not. I really hope this can come to fruition. Thanks for your time.

They could have a built in messenger client in the Zune social website, just like AIM, MSN, ICQ, Jabber, and more specificially Google Talk has been doing for years. It's extremely simple to have the client embedded on your profile. They could also have the ability to use the messenger on your Zune device, as stated on the post I linked earlier.
This way, Xbox, LIVE, and Zune are all linked together. The Xbox is for gaming, the Zune is for music, the LIVE is for messenging and blog, ect.
It's that simple. Just allow people to go onto LIVE messenger with their Zune social accounts. You can access messenger from the 360, and 3rd party websites without ever having to install a client. Google Talk has prooved this. The majority of the users use the embedded version on the mail client! ICQ users have been taking advantage of ICQ to Go! on school computers, to use messenger without having to install anything.

Although this might be dipping into the software side a bit, how about an outbox for the 250 character messages. Sometimes I'm straining to remember what I last wrote to a person who messages me back after a few days. Also how about some type of notification system for when a person receives a private message? Sometimes I miss them for a few days because I don't know I have one.

Totally my area, totally a place I'm going to improve...but not with this project. :-) Outbox, the ability to have the message copied into the body of the reply, the ability to forward - all important stuff I've got to do. :-) And I will!

Sounds good I'll keep an eye out for it.

re: An invitation to help me design a new feature
Great move, I have to say this could prove to be one of the neatest ideas in terms of creating a new feature. I do have a question, is this going to be a feature that will be in the zune software, on the zune device or something online witht he Social?
