Zune Software Update Coming Today - 2.3 FINALLY!

Definitely runs much faster on my computer now.

Here's some stuff I like after messing around for abour 10 minutes:

• Everything works when I click on it. No need to wait 4-30 seconds before a section loads.
• Double clicking on video zooms or shrinks it. This was needed. Nice.
  
• Album covers seem to be smaller than they were in the previous version (maybe it's just me?)
• Sorting is now instant. No more random freezing or long wait when you sort your media.

Best feature so far (imo): Everything loads way faster without any hangs! Great job. Can't want for the next update.

Nothing but problems for me.

Latest are crashes when trying to subscribe to podcasts.

My Zune auto updated today, and I noticed on the sync info that 35 items had been removed? It listed all of them, which were 34 tracks, and 1 full cd. I own legal discs of all of these, and at first thought it might be some copyright restriction on these songs. But then I started looking at what was removed, and they were all track #1? So, out of 600 cds on the Zune, not a huge deal, and of couse I set out to see if I could put them back on. I noticed one of the tracks was by Chocolate Watchband (an old 60's band) who wouldn't have the copyright "pull" to get their songs "auto-removed" from my Zune. Anyway, when I put the first removed track back on the Zune, I noticed that the available space had gone back to 808 meg, from 928? And all of the tracks removed were back! I played them to make sure, as I had checked them to see they were gone in the first place. Weird, just thought you should know about this. T

My wireless sync finally works! Podcasts here I came.

I don't see the update either in the Zune software, or in Windows Update (Vista). I'm downloading the full installer now. Here's hoping it doesn't mess up my existing installation.

not at home so  Ican't test but hopefully this will have solved my Explicit music DLing problem

Glad to see the Zune Team got this update out so quickly.  Hopefully all of you that have been having problem will now experience the Zune that way I have.  Also for those rushing to get the update I'd suggest you just open Marketplace, connect your Zune and wait for it to put the update out to you.  I knew the update was ready today but after having my Zune connected for about 10 mins it asked me to update.

Renaming  an artist now more reliably keeps the change

I beg to differ. The same albums that were stuck on the wrong artist before are still stuck. It sounds like they just gave up on fixing this bug by saying it is "more reliable" and not fixed. We want this fixed. The next update doesn't need any new features at all, just the ability to work properly. This is still the biggest bug with the software as far as I am concerned.

Update worked flawlessly here. Downloaded and installed quick and easy. My 80 has had no issues but I was finally able to restore my daughters library and fix the DRM issues. Explicit content does work now if parental controls are set properly. Thanks Cesar and the Zune team.

After installing the update it no longer had any record of my Zune 80.  I had to reset up my preferences for syncing.  Besides that the update went smooth.

Is there anyway we can find out if the conversion to different qualities will come back?  We lost this from version 1.

It didn't do the autoupdate until the second or third time I logged on today but I have to agree with whomever said it's running faster.  I appreciate that.  No issues to report right now.  Thanks guys.
