Songs played on three different computers, not at the same time, each one should get it's own license per the user's name & account. The licenses should not need to be downloaded again, or least what i would think. You are thinking maybe that each time a song is played that Zune marketplace is issuing yet another license which expires the content fast? Could it be that simple? Doubtful, i'm not an engineer tho, seems plausible tho.

More asking if this is what could be happening, rather than saying it is. I have no idea. As a former beta testers, one has to generate theories and and questions. Not a software designer myself either, although I have programmed some in college recently.

Seems there are a lot more issues than there are explanations, and many of us have similarities. Zune's technical support seems to be preying upon those of us, who have moved content from one machine or drive, as an excuse to get out of supporting their customers' past purchases. Can't understand if no one asks, and proposing ideas might spark an explanation - or cure.

No see, when I first moved all of these DRM songs on my new computer from my old one they worked and have been for about a week or more.

They just stopped working now!

Best you can do is call technical support. They might reset your DMA, although if the songs don't exists in WMA then you're out of luck. Regardless of the double-standards one volunteer here says, if the song is changed on the server end it will still give the error. He'll tell you it's because you moved it from another computer. Sad [:(]

The only way I can see it working is to transplant your old DMA folder into your new machine. Linked here, saving having to repeat it. Backup your first DMA folder by renaming it. Drinks [D]

Now for a little story on iTunes. Bought an album, & one song that ZMP was not allowing me to restore or buy the MP3 version.
I got a monthly purchase history of each song & album, showing an easy to read statement. Album & song prices, tax, and total billed. Much nicer than ZMP's report.
Underneath each album & song, are two links: Write A Review, Report A Problem.
So, I decided to test the report a problem with one song that I can't tell if it's distorted at the end, or if that's special effects. I got an automated reply with helpful links, and saying I'll be contacted by an iTunes representative within 24 hours. Was like 9 hours, and he stated that there was a one song refund, and gave me the steps to claim the free song download.
Followed the steps, downloaded the song again. Still have an issue at 4:00, so I asked them to take a closer look at it, but this was Friday. I highly doubt anyone would look at it during the weekend, but we shall see. Party!!! [<:o)]

Was impressed. See, I was given the opportunity to download the M4a files for a week, but I didn't. Decided to test the report a problem, got speedy service, and one song was refunded - price wasn't an issue, was a free song of my choosing. I just decided to download the song again to be fair. -- Oh hey, got an email saying the song will be investigated, was answered by another representative - said the former had the day off. Guess they do work weekends.  Big Smile [:D]

Zune has its place, yet there are more issues and fluff than there is reliability. Indifferent [:|]

I found I've lost a few songs to this wma bug....and expecting us to become pseudo-computer programmers and go through all the steps listed is just BS.  I'll tell you what, Microsoft, I'll try to do all that just as soon as you want to come and hang with me and prepare media, broth, incubate blood samples, and correctly ID the bacteria next time you get an infection.  Mmmmkay?

My Zune was stolen some time ago.  When I have the funds to replace it, i may be the proud owner of an iPod touch.  The ball's in your court, ZMP.

I have to agree with everyone else, and that this is BS.  Why should we have to fix your problem.  Just got my first error message, and If i keep getting them, I will have to pull the plug on Zune and look for something else.

Summary:  This item is no longer available from the Zune Marketplace. Because of this, you can no longer play it or sync it with your Zune. You might want to delete it from your collection. Sorry for the inconvenience!

Also, I have had to change computers several times due to operating system issues; how do I go about getting my download counts and computer count reset? Please advise. Thank you!

Does "Zune Pass Content" mean music purchased with the monthly credits?   Because there are several songs that I purchased with credits that get this error message, and they are no longer in my "purchase history."

No they cannot and will not.  No matter how legit or polite one can be.  I have lost all licences to to WMA thing, reimage Windows, bought new machine.  People do have to buy new computers and reimage computers ya know.  I have asked for limit reset a number of times so I can at least listen to the 20% of content which has not been removed from marketplace to no avail.  Escalation says they feel my pain but they explain their hand are tied.  I find it interesting that Zune won't take a few simple steps to avoid all of this bad noise and possible litigation.

re: An update on WMA license expiration issues for purchased content: We’d like your assistance!

I just went through every song I purchased through Zune Marketplace and attempted to play each one. I have three with Error Code C00D27E1, which are:

LaGrange
ZZ Top
Greatest Hits
16 LaGrange.WMA

Conquistator
Procul Harum
Live at Union Chapel
09 Conquistator.WMA

Low Rider
Cheech & Chong
03 Low Rider.WMA

This is all very frustrating. I've had songs disappear or become unplayable for no apparent reason, only to magically reappear weeks later. "Conquistator" stopped working, started working again and is now not working.

re: An update on WMA license expiration issues for purchased content: We’d like your assistance!

I'm seeing the same error for a purchased song (I don't have content pass):

Social Distortion
Greatest Hits
04 Story of My Life.wma
DRM: Yes - invalid license (has no usage rights)

What I don't get is that I thought services like this had seen the light and were going to DRM free music (for this very damn reason - DRM ends up screwing over honest customers).  WTF??  I thought I was "purchasing" the song and not leasing it where my right to use could be revoked at any arbitrary time.
