I love my Zune 30 and was anxiously awaiting the Zune 80. I was planning to buy it on my way home from work. Now that I'm hearing about you removing Auto-Playlists, I have to seriously reconsider it. I was extremely unhappy to hear about their removal of the 5 star rating system. Removing the auto-playlists may very well be a deal breaker for me. Now I'm going to update my original zune instead and see if I can even use the device anymore without my two favorite features.
What bothers me most about the removal of these is the fact that I don't know of anyone actually being able to provide input on them. The corporate line is that focus groups didn't like or use them. That may be, but how many of your focus groups were advanced users? AutoPlaylists are something that you don't really see the value in until you figure out how to use them.
I'm extremely disappointed that you would remove features like this without presenting it to the community first. Microsoft is usually pretty good about not removing features that users depend on. This just feels like betrayal that you would start doing so now.
This may force me to cancel my Zune Pass subscription and start using my iRiver with Napster To Go again.
