I love my Zune 30 and was anxiously awaiting the Zune 80. I was planning to buy it on my way home from work. Now that I'm hearing about you removing Auto-Playlists, I have to seriously reconsider it. I was extremely unhappy to hear about their removal of the 5 star rating system. Removing the auto-playlists may very well be a deal breaker for me. Now I'm going to update my original zune instead and see if I can even use the device anymore without my two favorite features.
What bothers me most about the removal of these is the fact that I don't know of anyone actually being able to provide input on them. The corporate line is that focus groups didn't like or use them. That may be, but how many of your focus groups were advanced users? AutoPlaylists are something that you don't really see the value in until you figure out how to use them.
I'm extremely disappointed that you would remove features like this without presenting it to the community first. Microsoft is usually pretty good about not removing features that users depend on. This just feels like betrayal that you would start doing so now.
This may force me to cancel my Zune Pass subscription and start using my iRiver with Napster To Go again.

This is very important. These features are the only things making me want to ditch my Creatve Zen Vision:M and get a Zune. Finding out that you actually GOT RID of these features makes me question that though. I mean, if you would get rid of these features, I really wonder how much thought you're putting into your software/hardware. The new Zunes really showed promise, and reallyu got me excited, but without these features, it's nothing more than just another dumb brick mp3 player. Let us music library geeks play around with our library how we want to ok?
Also, being able to nest auto playlists inside other playlists would really be great.

I am in France and had no problem to instal the new software (in French!). The software is amazingly easy to use.
On the device, I am sorry you did not add a clock and alarm (at least on the zune 30).

If you want me to buy music on the market place, please provide more than the basic MP3:
- the song
- the lyrics
- history of the band and of the album
- names of all artists
- video...
In the old times, when I used to buy CDs, I liked to read the lyrics and the history of the album. For 99cents, to win over piracy, editors should provide more than just the song which is available somewhere for free.
-Clock/Alarm -Gapless Playback -Custom EQ-DivX support-Background quality (I don’t know what happened. my backgrounds once were crisp and clear, now they are just fuzzy.) -Smaller Text on the device Menu (I'm not blind guys) -Auto-playlists -ID3 editing on device -Custom backgrounds or at least color choices on the PC Player
