Zune 30 freezing issue - [Update and Resolution]

If you take out the two screws under the dock connector remove the back and disconnect the battery then reconnect it your Zune 30 will work again. Frankly this is unforgivable Microsoft. My 30 is also dead, and I am eagerly awaiting a fix. My 30 is always so full that I need a bigger one, but my choice will probably hinge on how MS fixes this issue on devices that are almost certainly out of warranty.

I sincerely hope that you are right. However, if that be the case, it is interesting that it worked on Feb 29 and gives trouble on the 366th day of the year!Surprise [:O]

I have two Zune 30s both froze simultaneously at about 1 this morning. I would need something more than a 16 since i'm using 20 some gigs on both.


no joke i was just convening my best friend to buy a zune instead of an ipod i fought for you guys for hours!!! XD

we should just get fixes to our beloved 30GB's if not they should be recalled for a huge software error. Mine was a special gift given to me by my wife who does not like tech. So it is a big deal.

If you are a music junkie, then I can see having a lot of storage. I've got about 27 gb used on my 30, but quite honestly I really only listen to about 1500 different songs regularly, so for me 16 gb would be fine.

i'm a high school drama teacher, i use my zune to play clips of whose line and other things as examples for improv so a bunch of my students over the years have purchased  zunes as well. boy am i going to hear about it on monday when we go back.

I was using my Zune this moning and in the middle of my music and playing a game it froze and turned off. When it restarted it stays on the Zune logo screen with a full loading bar and goes no where. Eventually the battery died, so once replugged and minimally charged, it restarts again. And same thing happens, the start-up screen with load bar and that's it. Not to mention my warranty is now expired.

yeah mine just froze up too....

and in 30 min im supposed to leave on a 4 hr car ride...DAMN!

I know you were kidding, but my 30 is feeling very hot at the moment.  I certainly hope that this problem doesn't end up damaging the HD.

If you do this u will risk that microsoft will do nothing if we need to send it back in. Also THIS IS ONLY TEMPORARY once synced back up to a computer it will brick again.
