How many electronic devices do you think are built here... VERY FEW. This is a firmware issue, pure and simple. Lets see what MS comes up with for a fix, folk.

It would be nice to have an "official" thread where the Zune team posts updates, but prevent comments from users so it's unfiltered direct from the Zune team.

See zuneinsider.com.  Not much more (yet) to report than they're working on it, but it is straight from Microsoft.

If it is a firmware issue, how come it only affects Zune 30s?

Mine is spinning too and warm. Just now..... 10:29 MST it turned off! It has been plugged in all night and now shows the low battery signal and wont turn on. Plugged in now and just shows the charging logo on the screen.

I hope this doesn't take until 11:30 at night to fix like most of the technical issues I've experienced.

Each device will have slight differences in the firmware to support the differences in the hardware.  just because one download installs the firware for all models doesn't mean they all have the exact firmware.

One man's "inconvenience" is another man's "ripoff". Hope something big is coming very soon, Microsoft, because the class-action clock is ticking. What if every Honda Civic suddenly wouldn't start this morning? Would Honda tell people to wait 6-8 weeks for a new car?

You're a douche.

This isn't a Honda, it's software and can be fixed remotely.  One man's class-action is another man's increased product price.  Just STFU and be patient, drama queen.

Step 1: Don't do it.

Step 2: Wait for a fix from MS.

Step 3: Be happy that you're not a lemming.
