Help-frozen zune!!!!

Same problem here. I'm in Europe for vacation so it has been happening for me for about eight hours now. I woke up after charging and updating my Zune on the computer to find my Zune stuck on the reboot screen with the menu bar full. I have heard and tried if u take the back case off your zune, very easy to do, and unplug the battery for 15 seconds and plug it back in you can bypass the loading screen for a couple of seconds and turn off the clock. This is only a temporary fix though, DONT KNOW WHAT WILL HAPPEN TOMORROW!!!. This is the kind of careless crap that pisses me off, and I'm what you call a Zune fan boy per say; I love that thing. I'm about to be on a 4 hour train ride without music. I hope they wont  use this as excuse to make us o.g's( original 30 gb zune owners) upgrade, because this seriously is not the best time for this, especially after Christmas.

Mine drained (I think) and the plug in power sign came up so ima try and c what happens. Im going to a casino for newyears later and now ima have no music and ima have to talk to the old people instead :( (Theres allot of those there) and its totally gona ruin my day. . . .MY ZUNE JUST STARTED TICKING!?!?!?!?! If this thing blows me up i so will not be happy! It only ticks every few seconds tho, Still suspiscious tho. And this whole pop your zune open ta fix it thing sounds fishy cuz wont that void any and all warrentys? Unless yours is up id say dont do it man. or woman people.

 

Nope it just froze up again.

Here is another frozen zune. I woke this morning and it's froze just like everyones. I love my zune I have had it since it's release and have used it everyday. I was thinking when it froze that maybe I just worked it to death but now with all the others with the same problem the Zune will live again once everyone calls microsoft and they fix the problem. All of microsofts stuff has had big upgrades lately so will the Xbox and PC's go down next?

Mine froze up about 5-6hrs ago, was working fine just a few hours earlier.  It's unplugged, in the hopes that a drained battery will allow a reset.  But when the low battery icon appears and I plug it in, it charges for a while then goes back to the frozen logo.

And I just got my Xbox back from its second repair in 3yrs.  Not a happy camper.

Same locked screen like everyone else.  This should be interesting.

I wrote to my local newspaper to put it out on the news to make all the 30GB owners aware that they are not alone with the problem and to await Microsofts magic wand> :)  I LOVE MY ZUNE!!  It's like my baby. :(

Yes "Cowmanik", I realize that now that I've searched the related threads a little more thoroughly. But now I'm worried that there may be excessive wear and tear going on. As mentioned in other posts, and as I first noticed when I pulled mine out of the cradle, it's quite warm around its back bottom area. Is this the drive spinning uselessly? Or the battery overcharging? Anybody know just where these items are located within the unit? There is a whirring sound sound so perhaps it is the drive going all out. Not good in either case for the long run.

I tried to let it die, and then recharge it, but it keeps doing it!!!

Mine did the same thing this morning!  I always sync up new podcasts in the morning before I go to work.  Load screen with progress bar and no buttons work. 

 

I like how all the "fixes" tell you to put it to sleep, update the software or erase everything.  HOW CAN YOU DO THAT WHEN NONE OF THE BUTTONS WORK?!?

Right before I left for work the wife came down and I told her not to connect her Zune.  She has a black 30GB and I have a brown 30GB.

That link doesn't help. Even if I could restart the Zune it freezes when it boots up.

Oh God, I can't take it!

This is a ROYAL pain in my azz. I love my baby and want him back. STAT! Microsoft is not making me happy right now. I do not have the money to but another, damn.
