Finally shipping, christ.  I ordered back on the 17th.  I guess I can finally put to use the new stereo I installed in my truck in anticipation of my Zune

hey buzzberg, where did you hear that rumor? that would be cool and all, but I'd prefer some microsoft points or something. Oh well, beggars can't be choosers right? -=to be honest , I don't know if I am using that saying correctly=- hahaha

I ordered my 80 GB red customized Zune on Jan. 15th 2008, and was promised an email when the unit shipped.

Today, just today, i got an email saying that the unit is running late due to high demand and it will take an additional 5-7 busn days for it to arrive.

My Zune was to be delivered no latter then this Friday.

How disappointing i am. Specially since i paid so much money for it.

Why was i not told of the 'high demand' for it when i first orderd, or with my purchase confirmation email. Me thinks that that should have been calculated on the site. Instead of getting customers hopes high that there unit will arrive in one week, instead it should be updated to say that it will take 3 weeks to a month for it to arrive.

I am pissed.

Anyone experiencing anything similar?

PS, i still don't have a tracking #, because i am told it's not even left china yet.

I been calling Zune order support everyday for the past week, and keep getting the same line. I was told today that i will definitally will be getting compesated but they don't know yet what that is.

I ended up writing to Bill Gates email address with my issue ticket # and order # to see if anyone there can get my stupid Zune deliverd.

At this point the only thing that can make up for this disaster is them giving me the $500 boom box for the Zune. But i don't see that happending!

The bottom line is that my birthday is on the 16th. My friends game me the money so i could order what i wanted for my birthday, i was so tierd of the iPod (which died just recently) and decided to give the Red Zune a chance.

This does not mash well with Microsoft, specially will all the other issues i've had with them. Between the Xbox, Xbox Live and Windows Live ID issues that i am currently dealing with, this is yet another slap in the face.

So, clearly the previous two people to have post haven't read the post where it said "Hey, guys! They're being shipped!"

Why weren't you informed of the high demand when you first ordered? Maybe because you ordered before the high demand really set in. Maybe you're part of the high demand.

Emailing Bill Gates? Because he's going to say "Gosh! This poor single person didn't get a Zune! Let me hand deliver it!"

Sorry for being snarky guys, but come on...
