re: We're listening!

Message to MS regarding Zune Feedback (Podcasts)

I purchased a Zune 80 because I’m a huge Microsoft fan and heard the Zune had good (from C|Net) Podcast support. To my surprise the 3year old Smartphone I have does a better job of playing Podcasts. Sure the Zune will sync up directly, and wirelessly (cool), but I can’t manage the podcasts once they are in the Zune. Which reduces the user experience. Example being able to queue up multiple podcasts or create a play list. If I listen to a 20 min podcast I have to unpack my Zune, navigate to the podcast of my choice and select. Hard to do when you are running, hiking or driving.

Podcast Manageability

    1. Play list or queue list (this is most important) ----Please please please this is the most important request.
    2. Ability to Delete one podcast title (not subscription) from the Zune
    3. Show (or have option to show) list of songs, podcasts or videos recently synced on the Zune. When I sync wirelessly I don’t know what has been updated. I have to navigate though all podcasts to get an update.
    4. The ability to download podcasts or RSS feeds when in a WiFi hotspot would be fantastic and totally worth the price of the Zune.

    2.    Software

I find the manageability of podcasts in the software as unintuitive. I think it’s because I’m a MS guy and accustom the freedom of full access to the files and not working with a limited interface. I’d like to have a broader look at all the podcasts at the same time. I hate to say it, but similar to iTunes. With the Zune software I’m forced to click on an Icon of the podcast to see what is there. A list view would be more efficient.

  1. Ability to download, play and bookmark audio books – Audible support would be great! I’m sure that is a partnering issue, but that would be a great benefit and expand the Zune market.
  2. Many media devices have FM, but I’d love AM too. I never listen to FM radio, just Podcasts, MP3s and AM - - I get that goes beyond a firmware update, but I had to ask.

 Thank you for your time.

I want to be able to sort by composer.  Its about impossible to keep your classical music organized without this one.  Also I really need to be able to rename artists/songs/whatever directly on the player.

re: We're listening!

When are we going to start seeing some of the changes we have been suggesting?? You would think that if the Zune team is really listening they would have come out with some updates by now. Why can we not at least get a progress report?? I have been waiting since the "upgrade"(November 15th, 2007) for a fix to the mix-matched album/track tag problem that I have been having, and I am just about ready to give up!!! I have decided to replace my 30GB Zune with an 80GB player, but if there are no updates to fix these problems in the next 2 weeks I might be forced to go to iPod.....and believe me I hate Apple with a passion, but I hate Zune/microsoft more at this point!!

Come on already, fix the software or give us back the software that actually worked!!!!!!!!!

Have any feedback on something we should fix?   Please tell us!

Have any feedback on something that you think is missing?  We're listening!

Have a great idea for a feature that would make our products even  better?   We've LOVE to hear it.

Have the screen come on breifly at the beginning of a song so you can see what song and artist is coming on. This will save you from having to leave the backlight always on and wasting battery.

re: We're listening!
You guys have us make comments in this forum, say you will listen and give feedback, and the best part is you leave us to our own devices to stew and get more pissed off by the post. This is a holiday (Happy MLK Day to all) and I can't say to cut you people slack because its WELL past the majors. Guess I'll never get that 80 back. Take care & best wishes to all! Too bad you make a valid argument for me to return to the ipod fold. 30gb - First & Last (RIP).

Its Just me!!!
