re: HOW-TO: Facebook + Zune Card (and other sites)

The only concern I have with putting the larger Zune Card outside this site is that people can hit "Fav" on them and favorite one of your songs to your profile without you knowing. Don't worry about the "buy" button because they'll be asked to login (and hopefully you didn't, for any reason, tell them your username and password :P)

THIS JUST IN! Small Zune Cards only show favorites!

Is it still blank until you click it on facebook?

If you clicked the link directly to the .SWF file, it'll be blank because it doesn't know where to get the info from. You have to put it into the Facebook app to see what it looks like. I have a picture of what it will look like on the first page. If it shows up blank, you're not putting the flashvars code in [correctly].

If this is what you mean by blank: http://img205.imageshack.us/img205/2827/zunesocialfbclickmo2.png , just click on it and it'll start.

This is pretty awesome. I put my Zune card on my MySpace page and it works great.

I actually hope this encourages more people to get a Zune, seeing the cool networking aspect of it.

Mine does the "click here to play thing" too. I just took the first pic after I clicked it. It has to do with legal reasons. The technology that allows you to use Flash animations without needing to click on it was made by a company, and you need to pay them royalties to be able to use it. That's why when you use IE, you have to click on an animation twice to use it (you get a border around it first when you hover).

re: HOW-TO: Facebook + Zune Card (and other sites)

Hey guys, I'm the developer of the Facebook "Flash Embed" application :)

Regarding the "Click to play" thing, it's a Facebook limitation rather than a limitation in the application itself. On Facebook, all Flash objects on a user's profile can not be set to autoplay, and there is no way around this.

Instead of the default "Click to play" image, you may use your own image. The image needs to have the same dimensions as the Flash file. Upload it to an image host (eg. Imageshack) and then post its URL in the "Image URL" box on the Flash Embed application.

Oh, and for anyone having trouble finding the application, here's a direct link to it: http://www.facebook.com/apps/application.php?id=5456374427
