Ability to have video podcasts auto convert so in the morning you dont have to wait for them to convert before copying over.  Heck maybe even a option to start converting once a video is added to a sync list, thus can be working on it without zune attached.

  1. For the flash Zunes, it would be great if there was a stopwatch and countdown timer so you could use it while you work out. For the countdown timer, it would be nice to have it countdown different intervals so you could use it for interval training:

    i.e. timer counts down 5 minutes while you do ABC exercise - An alarm sounds - timer counts down 1 minute while resting - An alarm sounds - repeat process.

  2. Under "settings>about", there should be an "owner" category. In case your Zune is ever lost, some kind soul could look under this category to get your contact info
  3. To reduce theft, you should be able to lockout your Zune so it only works on select computers. You'll have a password and you can set it up so the Zune automaticlaly reconizes a list of your computers as ones that are allowed to talk to your Zune.
  4. cross fade!!
  5. View Photos by the tags you assign with Photo Gallery
  6. View Videos in grid fashion like how you can with Media Center.
  7. Zune software should allow you to EASILY modify any and all meta data: i.e. genre, Video type, album art, track number
  8. You should be able to rename your song files using the software: i.e. "Album Name - Artist - Track Name.mp3"
  9.  View PDF files. Be able to sync to an RSS feed. Be able to do both wirelessly.
  10. Be able to view how long it is taking to convert a file to be Zune compatible. The old software showed an indicator, but the new software does not.
  11. Delete files directly from the Zune!!!!
  12. Smart Playlists generated dynamically on the Zune
  13. Customizable Front Screen. Allow us to add/remove items from the main screen. If I don't use either the social or podcast aspect of the Zune, let me remove it from the  main screen. 
  14. Make the Zune a Vista sideshow device. Allow me to use my Zune to view what is on my Vista's Media Center. Furthermore, let me use the Zune as a remote Control for the Media Center. Also allow me to use the Zune to sample video recorded from the Media Center to see if I want to watch it thru the Media Center.
  15. Simple games
  16. It would be great if the software or the Zune could dynamically determine the beat of a song and create playlists. Would be great when you're working out and you want a certain tempo of music to help motivate yourself.
  17. Be able to zoom into photos multiple times. Great for looking at NYC subway maps.
  18. Be able to bookmark not just podcasts: i.e. mp3 audio books.
  19. An audible alert sounds when someone tries to squirts you something. This way you don't have to be looking at your Zune ion order to know someone is trying to send you something.
  20. You should be able to set it so you'd accept anything that anyone tries to send you. This way people are more likely to leave their wireless on and at the end of the day they can see if anyone attempted to send them anything good.

I would like to add some more.

1) Far eastern language support. (Japanese ,Chinses ...)

2) Modify tags of mutiple songs all at once.

3) Modify tags on zune.

4) Clock

PS: for the zune.net forum, could you put the clickable page number at the bottom, so that you don't have to scroll all the way to the top.

Bookmarks for the podcasts.  That way you can start where you left off on a 2 hour podcast when it is paused in the middle. If you synch or charge the Zune, it loses its place.

Browse into Zune using Windows Explorer

- Genre Browsing

- Ability to edit specific tracks without having to do it in the file metatags

- Ability to set the device display back or at least change the font size so it doesn't look stupid large

- Ability to sync with windows media player

- Would be very cool to add a TV option in adition to Radio to pick up local Television.
