Nah, see that's the problem.  When I go to Setttings | General | Check for Updates, I get an error, reported many times:  8024402C.  There is no help info for this error.

When I run Windows Update, it shows that there is a zune software update available there.  I'll try letting windows update do the work, even though the Zune setup program appears to be the same size as the windows update package and the zune setup said that it couldn't connect to windows update...

EDIT: It appears that installing the update via Windows Update allowed the installation to occur.  I guess the update downloaded from Windows Update could find Windows Update and therefore could install.  It only took a few minutes.  I haven't put it through its paces yet, but it appears to be working alright so far, playing songs and such.  Still get the same error when I click on the check for updates button, though.

Please use the correct font size next time also if you don't like the software or the device then move on.  I have a gig of ram pushing 3.2ghz of celeron power and I don't skip.  The problem isn't the software it's your computer.

Does this mean it fixes the Multi-User session issue with Wireless Syncing?

 

UserA is logged onto Desktop

UserB arrives home, and attempts to Wirelessly sync to same Desktop

What happens today is that UserB's Zune attempts to Sync with UserA's collection

UserB would have to be logged into the Desktop to allow UserB's Zune to wirelessly sync

The Pain this causes is that Wireless sync is useless if you were not the currently logged in user.  Even if both users have a logged in session, only the User in the Active Session is used.

 

This sounds like it needs to be resolved at the Service layer to associate a Zune with a user profile's collection.  Was this a possible fix?

I'll try it when I get home but to tell the truth Im think of going with the hack to use the zune as a portable hard drive maybe then I won't wast any more time on it .

I do notice an overall better improvement just hope everything is truly fixed cuz i really do like the zune.

Yep.  The software is a tad bit smoother.... except for Collection -> Videos.  The populating of thumbnails for videos is slower...and uncached. Sad [:(]

BTW, for anyone using my ZSMDarkTheme for the software, it still works for 2.3. Smile [:)]
