I have taken it apart to disconnect the battery to reset. I found that it is in the date 2009 it will freeze. Microst is wrong the device will not work even if you wait for calendar change. before you plug it in to the computer change the date back to Jan 2008. This will give micrsoft a chance to fix the firmware. You may even have to do a complete reset to fix it make sure to change the date every time you plug it in.
why not just unlock it like the iphone and fix it?

Uhhh like you said about my fix, wouldn't that void the warranty?

I have enjoyed my Zune and provided it resets as MS has explained I will not be too bothered by this minor set-back. Can't belive what a world of babies we have that we can't tolerate any error related to our toys and acting as if our work is flawless everyday.

My Zune has been freezing once a week for a couple months now and its a big pain waiting for it to die and then having to charge it to full battery..

I have been quite tolerate until it froze permantely last week...

Im strongly concidering switching back to Ipod

And no I do not have a 30 GB, I have an 80 GB

Alot of us are outside of the warranty, so it's not like we're really losing anything. Besides I work in IT and I know my way around computers so I'm not really worried about doing any damage.

I told you your Zune would get fixed. :p

Ok I need some help on what to do, my Zune has managed to freeze itself with the Zune Logo and the loading bar on the screen and none of the buttons are responding, rebooting isn't responding, plugging it into the computer isn't responding, nothing is working, and it was working a mere 2 hours ago.  Been through the troubleshooting pages and some of the forums and haven't been able to find an answer, would really like for my Zune to be working again, any advice would be nice.  Thanx
