Cesarisok, I am glad you are excited by the new Zune Software update, but so far I have not had any luck getting my Zune to Sync correctly..
Here are several of my issues. It would be nice if the $300 my sister spend to buy me this product someday is not a total waste.
I am running Zune 2.3 on two computers.
The first is a new Toshiba Satellite running Vista Home Premium, and these are the problems I am experiencing
- I can not get my Zune to connect to the computer. It recognizes the device but there is an error (Code 10) when starting it. I checked the Microsoft help website and did everything they suggested http://support.microsoft.com/kb/944909?sd=zune step by step. But to no evail. So I am not even able to begin to use the software with this computer.
My second system is a home built desktop that is running XP Professional SP2, here are the problems I am experiencing with it.
- My zune starts up fine, but when I go to sync from my collection the syncing always stops at around 1 - 10%
- When I try to sync manually the software says syncing complete, but the device gets caught up in syncing mode, and in the end no music is actually synced.
- At times when I sync music files are removed that I do not want to remove, and other files are skipped.
With this machine I have tried connecting to different USB slots, both front and back. I have erased all the music off the zune and tried syncing again. I have rebooted the Zune multiple times. I have changed the name of my device. I have had the software forget the device and then reconnected it several times. But all of this to no avail. The only thing I have not tried is throwing the device across the room, it is getting tempting though.
It is really frustrating to buy a high end device and then not be able to use it fully. On my last sync it only synced 41 out of over 4000 songs in the collection. Oh, all my songs are on my hard drive and are in mp3 format. I use Monkey Media to manage my collection on my computer. Now that is a GREAT piece of software.
It is my suggestion that Zune rethinks it's strategy here and makes it's device more versitile and user friendly. If Zune makes the drivers so that they can interface with other media programs that would be fantastic. The way it is now it is a proprietary nightmare, with hardly any support. I am thoughouly disappointed with my Zune now, and will not recommend that anyone buys one. Also, I was told by the employee at Target where my sister bought this for me that the Zune interfaced with any media player.. Lies, Lies, Lies Yeah!!
Well Cesar, waiting for your reply and some sollutions.. Thanks for any help you can provide
