re: Zune 80 availability = Zero
I'm in Redmond, WA and it seems hit and miss.  I logged in to Target's website where they will show you a guess on store inventory, the Redmond Target had about 5 80GB units in stock, I had no trouble getting one.  I will note that several of the surrounding Target stores were out of stock on the 80GB models.

I just ordered from zuneoriginals.net and got it in 3 days!!!!  The price is about the same as you would pay for a plain one but you get to choose a design for the back and/or special text!  I wish I had done this for myself, as the order was for my child for Christmas.  The process was EASY and not to mention FAST delivery (this may change as the orders go up).  But this way you can get your Zune with out having to hit or miss at the stores (which by the way most store sites let you check inventory for your local stores - Target, Wal-Mart, Circuit City, CompUSA, etc...)   Anyway, check out the Originals (link on home page of Zune.net).  And no, I don't work for Zune or Microsoft, I'm just a happy customer! :)

I did the same thing - quick and easy... www.zuneoriginals.com

re: Zune 80 availability = Zero

Looks like the availability issue is slowly becoming a non-issue.  I just hope that everyone what wants one can get one well before Christmas.  Have had mine for a week now and I could not be happier.  I've owned two players, a Dell DJ and a Toshiba Gigabeat.  Loved them both but my Z80 does what the DJ and Gigabeat did, only much much better.

Add to that that I am so happy not to have an iPod.  I swear every other person I see on the bus and subway to and from work ahve iPods and that just feels so conformatory (I don't think thats a word but ya get my meaning).

Happy Holidays All

Just got my Zune80 today, and been spending the last several hours transferring my CD collection (over 300 CDs) to my Zune. 3GB taken up... 77 to go!

Wow you seem to have a pretty big collection.  I have almost 400 CDs but actually only have about 2700 tracks on my Z80.  But I'm sure I'll find a way to get more music on this thing.

Best Buys all across the country started receiving 80GB units in store yesterday.  I saw them in at least 3 Best Buys here in St. Louis today.

re: Zune 80 availability = Zero
When picking up a few things in a local Target, I shuffled on over to the MP3 players to check things out. Saw a lone Zune 80 sitting in the case, but I talked myself out of buying it.

It took every fiber of my being while driving out of the parking lot, to not turn around go back into the store and buy it.

I walked into Best Buy on Sunday, and they'd just received six Zune 80's in stock.  I walked out with one (I paid for it, of course).  Seems like they're easier to find now...

re: Zune 80 availability = Zero

I've been trying for riggin days to install the software on my Vista Home Premium laptop, with ZERO success. I spent 90 minutes on the phone with tech support. I have yet to enjoy this 80GB system. $249 of wasted time so far. I can't get past this installation error:

INSTALLATION FAILED

Setup must stop because the required package 'Zune' failed to install.

DIFXAPP: Rollback failed with error 0x2

Error Code: 0x80070643

"BOGUS MICROSOFT SUPPORT LINK HERE"

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD MICROSOFT, FIX THIS CRAP!!!

I've tried the crappy support links and found ZERO solutions that actually help me.
