So far my problem seems to be confined to one album I downloaded from Marketplace using my ZUNE Pass. I downloaded Rod Stewart's Great American Songbook Vol 2.  When I play the album on either my Zune or on my PC it skips. I deleted the album from my ZUNE and from my PC, and then I re-downloaded it.  This had no impact. Songs still skip. This has a chilling effect on the thought of purchasing music from the MarketPlace.

Specific defective content should be reported in the content forum.  See this.  If you are impatient, and unhappy, you can also contact Zune Support and request a refund exception if the content is truly defective.

I recently purchased The Wedding Present's album Singles 1995-1997 and almost every song skips.

I just got my 16GB Zune in April and many of the songs that I've ripped from CD or vinyl skip on the Zune but not on the PC.  I'm using XP SP3 and the latest Zune software.  Songs that didn't skip at one point can develop skips.  I've seen this mentioned frequently and that firmware correct this problem on some Zunes, but clearly not all.

I should have asked, how do I report this problem to Microsoft, from whom I purchased the device?  I don't see any way to submit problems at zune.net or at microsoft.com.

Had this issue with a few select songs and it was driving me crazy as I first thought something was getting randomly corrupted during sycning but it occured on the same songs over and over in the same place. These songs also played perfectly fine on my computer. 

After inspecting the file information in Winamp (which has some amazing information by the way) 

PROBLEM:

I realized the problem tracks were all music store downloaded tracks that were encoded with VERSION 8 of WINDOWS MEDIA. 


SOLUTION:

This worked for me:

Force the Zune or use a another program to reconvert the songs to a newer(different) file format.  I'm not sure which preserves the most quality but it'sbetter than the song skipping.
