re: Experiences with zune repair service?

NO PROBLEM, SENT OUT AND A NEW ONE BACK TO ME WITHIN THREE WEEKS.  VERY HAPPY.  I WAS REALLY WORRIED AFTER READING ALL OF THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS ABOUT MICROSOFT SERVICE.

It would be rather best to register one's Zune at: http://service.zune.net.

There, you'll also know when the warranty ends.

re: Experiences with zune repair service?
my zune 120 gig started getting dust under the screen and they wanted to set the repair as a "screen replacement" and charge me 79.99$ to get rid of some dust that shouldnt be able to get there in the first place....really...80$...and the tech guy says they dont suggest opening the zune, the reason for that is because you can have alot less hassle by opening the darn thing yourself. i say screw the warranty. im gonna open it and clean it out myself.

If you call the Zune support # and while the robot is giving you menu choices, simply say "Representative".  It will forward you to the first level of support.  If they can't help you, ask to be connected to Level 2.  I have gone through this process 7 times, and am waiting on my 7th refurbished 80 gig zune.  Since the firmware upgrade, ALL the Zune 80 g refurbished they have sent me freeze on a song, erase everything, and we go through the replacement process again.  Good Luck!

re: Experiences with zune repair service?
I just bought a Zune a few weeks ago. Received a refurbed brick so I had to send it right back to Microsoft to be fixed. Printed the label, shipped it, and they got it within a couple of days. A few days later, the service was done and I got an email stating they'd shipped it and it would arrive in 10-15 days which seems excessive seeing as how I live in Texas where the factory it was sent to is and it only took me a couple of days to get to them in the first place. Well, they sent me the shipment notification email Thursday and I've been checking UPS.com daily and it still says it's only received the billing information. I don't know what the hell is holding them up! No movement since Thursday! I guess I just have to call and harrass them and see what's up since they told me they shipped it which they obviously have not.

Service, what is that?  I've been getting the runaround since 9-10-09.  Half the time I can't understand what is being said, and the other half is junk.  I would buy another Zune though, because in my humble words, I think the device is great.  Simple to use, but if  it does mess up, just wait ........
