I turned mine off shortly before midnight, but when I turned it on, i didn't notice any whirring or anything, it just took a few tries to get it unlocked and as soon as I hit play, it turned black and went to the reset screen like everyone else's...It just now died from low battery...It did get rather hot, though... Taking apart the Zune doesn't seem like such a good idea and most people are saying it didn't work, just so you know....Draining the battery doesn't work either, I've read...mine just died but I don't think I'm gonna recharge it, at least not for the time being... Taking apart the Zune probably voids the warranty (you'd have to read the warranty statement), assuming yours is still covered.

-In Loving Memory of all the Zunes that died December 31, 2008-
Mossy,
At this point should we be calling the 877-GET-ZUNE to register a trouble ticket? Or should we wait for more information?
I keep trying to call, and when I say "AGENT" it tries to transfer me, but then tells me the call could not be completed. I am sure they are overwhelmed, but at this point I'm not sure what good it will do to talk to them other than registering a ticket
Thanks!
