Will there, eventually, be a Zune device version?

Never mind...I just remembered that this was out of bounds.  Would be cool.  Maybe with the XNA games kit...

OK, I'll admit I'm coming to this late and there is a ton to digest, but looking at the flow for new questions it appears that the only way a question gets elevated is for 20 people to not only take your general quiz but vote for your question to be elevated?  Is this the current plan?

I see an issue where you have a large proliferation of quizzes by a few people that propagate the questions.  With that many quizzes only a few people are likely to get enough people to take and rate their quizzes.

Have you considered maybe a central general quiz where each user can submit possibly one question a day to each topic/genre quiz so that you have basically a master quiz that is being used to create the questions for the topics.

OK that seems confusing now but basically I'm thinking leaving your current structure in place but basically allowing the user to choose one of their questions from their quiz to submit for the daily test quiz.  That quiz since it could be elevated to a top level could be used to test questions that will go into permanent rotation.  You would have a much larger user base voting on those questions.

As I type it out I start to see issues with that as well, I'm just wondering how much work it will be for a person to get enough votes on their questions for inclusion.  I was looking for a way to allow for people who aren't super active but are good with trivia or have good ideas to get included by giving them higher visibility but on a smaller scale.

Hopefully some of that idea makes sense.

About the Trivia, will you be able to get Reputation Badges? For example if you are to get say 80% on a 50 quizes you get a Bronze Badge and so on for Silver and Gold. Also if you were to do Badges for them I think that you should add a page at the end of the quiz where you can rate whether or not you liked the quiz and just like the forum posts, the person who made the quiz should get a bronze badge for 50 quizes that were liked, silver badge for 200 and so on for Gold (1000?).

Will there ever be games for the Zune?  I used to have fun with my iPod mini playing the game where you bounce the ball off the paddle to break the blocks.  I think that it might be a nice, nifty little feature.

Complicate my ways again.... Anarchy in the Zune Social! :-P

Leafing through your spec, I had the following ideas/comments:

1) Why not add personality quizzes? You are laying out the foundation of quiz making and taking, so you might be able to lay the foundation for multiple outcomes. A result in the mini-feed may say "<ZuneUser> is most like <Moody Guy> in <Favorite Boy Band>"

2) Why stop at music? TV shows are also a part of the Zune Marketplace too.

3) Trophies for being on the leaderboard.

It won't be in 3.0, but we will release it soon. It's been interesting, to say the least, to try to develop a lower-priority feature in public!

I have four suggestions for additional features on the Zune.

1) Internet radio function w/ sleep timer. I use this feature on my PSP every night when I get to bed. I would consider this an essential feature.

2) The ability to download html emails from Hotmail.

3) Xbox Live friends list to see who is currently online.

4) Internet explorer mobile browser.

I have also downloaded the new 3.0 software and I have noticed everything works great except for the fact that I cannot connect to my home network when I use the marketplace feature. This is because the Zune cannot see my network since I disabled the broadcast id. Is there anyway to add the ability to choose the network from the one saved under the sync option?

In other words... "we won't try THIS again!" :)

It's far from final or perfect, but it gets the idea across.

check those links to see my rough drafts for the interface.

I am not tech-savvy with this stuff, but coming from a customer...Ryan's idea on this look super nice and I would love to see this in zune's future!
