We have three computers and three Zunes, all are logged in to the same account to download music, I just switch to my personal account to upload plays. The Zune can play Zune Pass music from an account it isn't associated with social-wise, but it will appear in the list of Zunes and computers registered to that Zune pass in the account settings. The only thing that won't work is the Zune Card on device feature, that has been off and on for me.
Again this is my main issue.. I would not want all of my wife's, son's or daughter's music on my system and your first sentence says that would be required. With a family account each person would have their own download lists on their own computers.
