What I hope happens is that our new ones don't have the same problem that I read on another forum where the zunes are restarting while playing music. I'll be pretty upset if I had to wait for a faulty product. So hopefully our wait will be worth it. ps: I still haven't gotten an e-mail.

I'm wondering if that's what actually is the case - they're on production hold to remedy (or make sure there isn't) a major defect. If so, I'm not unhappy that they're delaying it, only that they're being so coy about the whole thing. It is clear by now that "unprecidented demand" is not the reason for the delay, otherwise at least some of them would have trickled out...

Got my Zune!

They need to know that this leaves a bitter taste in my mouth that will probably be recalled when I decide what music player to buy the next time around. I'm even considering buying an iPod Touch as I write.

What, there's like ten or so?Not a huge chunk of the demographic. Again, I'm not saying that because there are so few people complaining, that it makes it alright, but think about it on the grander scale.
I respect your opinion, Uhlisuh, but Microsoft just opened this Zune Originals forum, and YoYoMama introduced it by by asking for feedback on the Zune Originals experience. He may ignore what we are saying, but he asked, so we're giving our opinions. Personally, knowing that there is someone here from the Zune team reading this forum, I feel like posting here is more effective than calling customer service and complaining (or keeping my mouth shut). If the complaints go unheard, then oh well. Our orders are submitted, and they are final. At least by chatting in this forum, we can share our experiences.
By the way, I'm in the same boat as you. My old 40 gig iPod died a couple weeks ago, and that's how I got started on this Zune journey. I'm really in withdrawal. :) I've been bringing CD's to work with me every day, but it only took me a couple of days to realize that what I pick in the morning isn't what I want to listen to in the afternoon. There's no going back once you start using a digital media player... I really do hope my Zune ships soon!
I don't know. Maybe it's like the blues. You sing about how bad your life sucks, and it makes you feel better.
Well, they say my iPod left me,
And Apple bores me today.
But then I saw that bright red Zune,
And I said to Apple "No Way!"
I found a design,
And it fit my vibe,
And the inscription was super cool.
So I ordered online
And got a reply,
And now I am playing the fool.
I've got the Original blues.
I'm missing my tunes
Cause I've got the Original blues.
My Zune is delayed,
I've been waiting for days,
But it feels like forty-three nights.
Now I just have ten songs
to play all day long,
and my ears are no longer right.
Now my Zune's at the factory,
Waiting for a machine to do some scratching,
Before it comes to me.
Some day it will ride
On a slow boat from Shanghai,
But today it's as quiet as can be.
See what happens when I can't listen to music? I've got nothing but time! Seriously though, I don't take the situation personally. I've been waiting for two weeks, and it sucks, but the Zune will come in due time. In the meantime, I'll just keep coming up with crappy song lyrics and post them to random message boards on the Internet.
Good luck getting your CD's to burn. If your burning software has an option to "Close the Session," that's probably what you need to do. You can try this link for more info on burning audio CD's with Vista and Windows Media Player. Or if you haven't downloaded the Zune software yet, you can try burning a CD with that. I haven't tried that yet though, so I don't know how well it works.
Thanks! That was great!
At this point, I'm switching to hoping they don't send mine for a while, as I'm leaving town to go to my grandmother's funeral, and won't be back for a week...
Thanks. Yeah, it does, doesn't it.
She had a long and happy life, and the end came quickly. A bit unexpected really, but I think that's the way I would prefer it myself.
