Features Needed For Next Zune Update...

I haven't gotten too in-depth with the new software yet but two items I have noticed right away that I'd like:

1) Get with the Windows Live Messenger guys and add Zune to the "Now Playing" in WLM
2) Podcasts don't show on my "recently played" on my Zune card; would like them to or at least have an option somewhere in my profile to show them or not.

Auto playlists and the ability to reduce the bitrate of the music on your zune.

No clue why they removed those features from the software. Or at least let us go back to 1.X

1. id3v2.4 support
2. folder.jpg as album art, rather than embedding (this worked in previous zune software)
3. TPOS (aka. discnumber tag) support
4. Ability to charge from an externally powered USB hub while computer is off
5. ReplayGain support
6. WPA2 (TKIP) support for wireless synching
   
7. Synching: A readout of how much space will be used up for highlighted albums before dragging to sync
8. Synching: Highlight which items are already present on Zune device when viewing music collection
9. Clock (firmware update)

Charging from an off computer wouldn't be possible through a Zune update

Being able to edit music files without transfering them from the Zune and back would be great, and Find album info option when right clicking an album or song needs to come back

I mis-typed my thought in the previous post.  I meant to say "externally powered USB hub".

Concerning the software aspect, many of the requests in this thread also require a Zune firmware update to take advantage of the feature.  Hence, I consider firmware feature requests legitimate here as well.

If we can get this sticky'd that would help :)

I know it's quite a bit of work, but if you have time to you might consider summarizing requests in a bulletted list in your first post.  That would help it get stickied.

Add me to the list of people that want the auto playlists back. It was a foolish move to drop them.

A rework of the elusive Now Playing/Active Playlist.
    --Redesign Now Playing work flow; the new Zune 2 Now Playing workflow is a step backward for the most basic functionality for someone just wanting to enjoy listening to music without having to figure out the really bad redesign of this once great feature. For example, find some way to make hte Now Playing visible at all times so we can drag and drop very easily.
    --Clean up terminology (Now Playin, Active Playlist?)
    --Clean up iconography: There's one icon for Now Playing in the lower right corner (you know, the equalizer icon that's actually the Now Playing inon) and a different icon in the lower left for the Playlist which includes Now Playing.
    --a Forward button
