ATTENTION: All of those experiencing freezes after the 3.0 update

Confirmed on my 120.  I've had multiple freezes - 1 or 2 a day for the last 2 weeks - while navigating through menus to pick other songs, and it happens NOT just during the last few seconds of what's currently playing.  A simple reset gets me back up and running, but the frequency of the issue is becoming annoying.

As a side note, I notice that the problem only happens when I'm on battery power.  I notice this because I have my zune in a dock all day at work and I have never had a freeze there.  It only freezes in my car on the ride home or when I'm walking my dogs.  Don't know if that's just coincedence, but I've never had it freeze when docked or connected via USB to my PC. 

Hope this is fixed soon as it's the only downside to my 120. 

Its has been very frustrating for me after the 3.0 update. My Zune freezes constantly. Please relaese a fix soon or remove 3.0 update until it has been patched.

Been happening to me since day one with the 3.0 firmware

Happened to my zune for the first time this weekend.  Replicated it 5 times.  My girlfriend did it, so she was freaking out until I could get home to look up the reset.

yep happens all the time on my z30 please fix or make a 3.1

It's unbelivable that they did not fix this problem yet!

I'm having the same problems...I even re-formated the Zune Twice and installed the update 3X..

If you don't have the time to fix it...then give us the opprotunity to choose which firmware we would like to have on are Zune!!!

That's the problem with Microsoft, releasing there software when it's not ready to be released!

Both my children wanted MP3 players for Christmas I was going to get them the Zunes....but after having this problem I don't think so,  I don't want to spend my time fixing 3 Zunes.

One thing I noticed is the locks ups are more sporadic now. One day I will have constant lock ups to the point of giving up. Then for a week I'll have nothing.

My Zune has not locked up in over a week now. But just before Halloween when I added the new Michael Jackson 25th Ann. Thriller CD, I could not even play it all the way through without it locking up every three song changes. Then, all lock up's vanished again. Things are smooth.

I add music to my device every couple days but I never remove any music. So the content that was there two months ago is still there, just added to it. But at times after adding new music the lock ups return. Then of course cease again.

Tomorrow, who knows? That may be another total lock up day. This is how it seems to go for me.

I'm looking forward to them stopping all together....soon! I don't want to face the up coming holiday parties with a Zune that locks up while playing music for everyone.

3.0 is otherwise an overwhelming success. Really, this is the ONLY issue I have noticed, which is very impressive when you realize they are developing for two platforms: PC and the device. This is probably one of the greatest pieces of software released anywhere this year, or at least in recent memory. I think 3.0 definitively put the Zune over the top of the iPod (though not in popularity obviously).

 

To all those who are overreacting (flamers): A Zune team member has already confirmed in this very thread they are aware of the problem and they are definitely going to fix it. How could they afford not to anyway? It is only a matter of time and I am confident in them.

Yeah mine just had back to back freezes

I have an 80 and have not experinced any sort of freeze, but since 3.0, plays that occur on the zune don't update to the computer software or zune.net. I assume I'm in the same boat, waiting for a patch. Already did soft and hard reboots with no success.

I have one of the first model Zunes to come onto the market back two or three years ago and this update has bricked it. I am going to repeat this, BRICKED it. I experienced the glitch that was posted here while I was working and attempted to restart my player, that's when it happened. the screen flashed once or twice minutes later but the device now refuses to respond even when hooked up to my computer, which it is now.

I am very upset about this and want to know what I can do about it. I have tried the past two hours to restart the system of my Zune and it refuses to work again. Should I continue to post here or what should I do. It worked fine in all the time I've had it.

Edit: Two hours later of fiddling with it and it decides to boot back up. Thank you for the fourm's support.
