YAWN! Go away and enjoy your Ubuntu and your iPod. Why do you litter with your bitter? Just go and have fun with your "superior" products. Jeesh...no one in the MS forum cares that you're an MS hater. Move along please.

It's is almost 2am here in Los Angeles and my Zune is alive and kicking! =) I get my sleepy time playlist again.

Im so glad to hear that you are all back up and running! I just arrived home from some NYE festivities here in Seattle and both of my Zune 30's are behaving normally as well.

Thanks to all for being patient during this time. Keep on Zuning... (is that even a word??) :)

PS - If you are still having problems, make sure that you let your Zune fully discharge before recharging it. You may also want to connect it to your PC to recharge it so the clock is completely reset.

Did you let the battery die???

Short of opening the case to unplug the battery you will need to let the battery die out and recharge to force the Zune to reset.

You should feel dumb. WHY on earth would you drop an electronic device (especially one with a HDD in it) on the floor to try to "fix" it.??? Did you learn that in Electronic Repair 101??

BYE BYE ... and comparing a Zune to an iPod Touch is comparing Oranges to Apples (pun intended). Zune has had 2 generations. The Originals (30 GB models) and the newer ones (The Flash 4/8/16 and the 80/120 version) .. iPod has had too many to count (how many time does a iPod need to be redesignd during a generation??? seriously). The iPod also has it's share of problems ... especially in its EARLIER models. I have had SEVERAL iPods in the past and all have just died.

I currently have both a Zune 30gb and an iPod 30gb (My girlfriends). I also own an iPhone. After several problems with the iPod's I bought my Zune. To me there all the same .. I plug in some headphone ... set a playlist to run ... put it in my pocket. It's an MP3 player.

30 gig zunes now back online. Plug it it in charge the battery and away you go. Mine works like new again.

mine's been dark since 7am ish.

i just plugged it in to my belkin power charger.

whew. what a relief, just a simple quirk... 

lol@all the absolute unhinged overreacted meltdown and the threat to rush to sue.

instant gratification has spoiled us all.

plugged mine in this morning after yesterdays crash, seems to be fine now. :)
