I can either do a hard reset or let my battery run down and if I use the AC adapter charger, my Zune comes back, but when I try connecting to the computer to sync, it locks up again just like on New Years Eve (locks up on the opening Zune screen).  Should I try deleting the firmware or do I have another problem?

Prob either wait for microsoft, or get it back now and do hard reset. (you will have to do a battery pull)

re: Those of you with STILL frozen Zune.
Im not going to make a video...sorry but I'm already back up and running and I don't want to go through that again but I'll try to help

Try this at your own risk

The zune must be unplugged from the PC
Open the case
carefully disconnect the battery
carefully reconnect the battery (don't worry about putting the case back together right now)
as soon as you see the Zune logo press BACK (arrow pointing left) LEFT (left on the outer ring of the center button) and OK (middle of the center button)
It should clear the contents (format) This should not take very long at all...I had 26gb on my zune and it only took a few minutes
Follow the screen promps (on the Zune) and connect it to your PC and open the zune software when it tells you too
From here it reloads the firmware and then you should be able to resync your music

if it hangs on the format screen I have read on the forum (didnt happen to me so I'm not sure) that if you disconnect the battery again when you reconnect it you will be promted to connect your zune to your PC and it will then reload the firmware

again try this at your own risk...this worked for me and again thanks Soul rebel for the original post

re: Those of you with STILL frozen Zune.
My 30 gig is having problems too, i just got it the night the bug crashed the zunes, it was working perfectly fine with it's original firmware, then i plug it in and it tried to sync, then it bricked with the zune logo and that bar across it, i restart it, trying to fix it, then it stopped showing the logo and bar, and started showing Contact Support, Is there a way of fixing that???
