Same deal here.  Stuck on the loading screen 100%.  I kinda guessed it might have something to do with the clock on the firmware, once I saw that everyone was having a similar problem with their 30gb models.

just tried the hard reboot and it worked like a charm !!! my zune is saved !!!!

Well, mine was shut down. A friend at work said his stopped in the middle of a song and I turned mine on. It was going though the startup then... I feel like an a$$ now. I got 6 people to buy Zunes saying how much better they were than I-Pod and then this.
