ITS ALIVE!!!!!!!

IT FINALY WORKS!!!!!!!

The trick is........... pull the battery out and put it back in, then plug it into your computer and it will ask you to install the firmware.

NOW I HAVE MY ZUNE BACK sitting on the same ol *connected" screen

re: Those of you with STILL frozen Zune.

Yep, I am synching now.  Even though it was stuck overnight on the "clearing contents" message, I popped the battery cable on and off, and got the screen that says "connect to your pc".  From there, everything worked the way it was supposed to - except the application set 90% of my library to "do not synch" for some reason, so I had to select everything and tell it to synch.

Eureka!

re: Those of you with STILL frozen Zune.

I can either do a hard reset or let my battery run down and if I use the AC adapter charger, my Zune comes back, but when I try connecting to the computer to sync, it locks up again just like on New Years Eve (locks up on the opening Zune screen).  Should I try deleting the firmware or do I have another problem?
