Pretty sure the battery will die long before that happens. Also throwing my name into the list of victims as it has successfully delayed my intent to sleep.

Also, my battery died and, upon gaining enough of a charge, proceeded to freeze at the loading screen once again.

One hour and fifteen minutes since "Zune Crisis 2009"began!!  No word whatsoever from MS, I'm cold in this shed stealing my grandparent's neighbor's wireless, and I think I'll check back in the morning (noonish) and hopefully MS will have a fix.  If not, it is going to be a very quiet drive tomorrow.  But, on the bright side I will have a brand new sorta shiny paperweight!

Really sounds like a firmware glitch. We're gonna have to wait until MS does something about it. I hope it isn't too long. I've got an 8 gb that I use, but I like my 30 because it has all my music on it.

 

The number of posts on this in the last hour is amazing...

 

I'm going to bed. I've got a Dr's appointment in about 6 hours....

I aint popping anything offa my Zune.  I guess its back to the old reliable cd player and cd's.  STUPID TECHNOLOGY!!!!!

Battery drain won't work, someone already tried that. I wouldn't worry about it overheating, I've left mine on for 10 hours and it was fine

We just gotta wait for Microsoft to say something which they probably won't until after New Years

yup. Mine's overheating too. I'm sure all are.  I'm NOT OPENING MINE UP. call me an idiot but I'm not. and I didn't sign up for that when buying a Zune.

I think that Microsoft will give us a response about this and will do one of the following:

1) A repair program.

2) Full refund program.

Something along those terms. And they'll add like, a 3 months free zune pass for our "troubles". That's usally the same Microsoft BS. heheh...MSBS.

Yeah; this is the reason I'm electing to leave it off the power source so it will just wear itself out and sleep if nothing else. At least one of us will be able to...

that's the freakish part of it. Some didn't have them hooked up. some did, like me. Some didn't have wifi on, like me, and some did. They all went out like the North Eastern power grid at pretty well the exact same time and now no response whatsoever from MS.

yeah, it's just odd. it seems it doesn't matter what any of us were doing at the time they all crashed.

mine was fully charged as of 11:30 pst, had just synched a few tracks, unplugged it at 11:45, i turned off the wireless and waited until the show i was watching was over at midnight. i hit play and just as i did the screen went dark, though you could still see it was lit. that's when the zune loading bar started moving, then stopped at the end. i tried the back button-down button thing to no avail.

man i hope this is an easy fix, i'm not to keen on cracking the case open to do zune surgery myself...
