i unscrewed mine took the battery out and and back inside then it came back to normal now i can charge it and upload music try it if it would work for yours also

WEll, I fought with this all day and found the people with the reset solution.
I got it to finally work holding the Back, Left, Center and reloading the firmware and running a full sync.

Not the most convenient, but better than replacement cost.

Did the battery thing several times, finally the 3 finger salute and re-sync appears to be working... 20% in after 10 mins. Thanks to all of you sharing your experiences, it was more help to me than the one published by MS. Another reason I love Ubunto ;-)

lol,,,,ubuntu!!!.....u really get it hard to sync on ubuntu,,,,using vmware...lol....

Finally Works... tried again after midnight and all is good. Did the rest after a total discharge and wa-la it works...Good luck Big Smile [:D]

mine is still not working so u rn't the only one, tried everything suggested, even called support twice and they just told me the exact same thing that was on the web page, ugh they r no help!

Same here i have been tryin to fix this thing since wednesday afternoon and have tried everything and nothing has worked for me either!!!

What I did was pull it apart, disconnect the battery, and do the "Back/left/center button" reformat before it froze. Worked like a charm.
Dunno if it will work for you, but you might as well try.
