Is there a fix for the 30gb player? 

When playing a movie.  It stops and restarts.

Do you mean the entire player shuts down and restarts?  If so, that indicates it encountered an error it couldn't recover from.  It could be a problem with the video file(s)  so try re-sync'ing them (and try playing them on the PC too, just to make sure they are OK.)
