So Apple announces their new products at Macworld and also at the WWDC, OPP or whatever it's called which is sometime in June.
When does Microsoft announce their new media hardware, such as Zune?

My guess is they would announce it when they feel that what features/benefits go with it are ready. If you're talking about major events, there would be CES or even in their own special press conferences.

Zune is, unfortunately, struggling.  I'd be surprised if there is another Zune model; if there is, it will probably be totally reinvented.  (i.e. touchscreen, gaming, phone capabilities, wifi internet, etc.).  Could be this Fall, could be next year, could be never.

Just so you know, Zune is planning to release new hardware/software before the end of 2009. Stay tuned.

If you use Zune's very short history as an example (2006-2008), new hardware/refresh announcements are September/October.  Of course, this means very little in reality.
